For some reason I can't stand that acronym "EDM". Anyways, I would be fine if dance music phases out a bit. Before 2009 I remember being so excited when a dance song would be on the radio because it was so rare. Now it's really nothing special... I want that feeling back again.

I think urban music is about to make a comeback.

That's a double edged sword for me. If urban music were to come back, Britney would be at an advantage because apparently she is going a more urban-esque route for her next album (producers such as Hit-Boy and Danja have been confirmed, but so have Dr. Luke and Max Martin, so I'm not totally sure what sound she's going for). Then there's Gaga who seems to be going full out electronic dance with producers such as Madeon and Zedd and, of course, White Shadow and Red One. But she also might be going urban too with songs like Ratchet and Tea that sound REALLY urban simply based on the title. All in all, I'm here for a bit of urban in pop. Dance-urban would be really cool (think Cheryl Cole's A Million Lights, songs like Ghetto Baby and Dum Dum and Make You Go).

Gaga album positions:

Born This Way (Bonus Track Version) - 612

The Fame Monster (Deluxe) - 882

The Fame - 968

Born this Way - 1321

Looks like she's gotten at least a small boost with BTW sales. It's usually hovering in the 900's.

Urban Dance for me is exemplified by Black Eyed Peas, LMFAO, and even Gangham Style (classified as a rap song by Billboard).

It's dominant enough, we need other kinds of dance.

The surge of S&T was all about the name Timberlake.

You know David Bowie jumped to #1 on UK itunes last week, now the song if #61.

Hoping for it to at least be in the Top 400 :ohno:

A$AP Rocky's first major-label album is projected to debut at #1 next week with around 130K. Is it just a shy prediction or is it albums in general no longer move that much as before? Anyway, I'd rather wait for the music video of S&T if the comeback single of JT could really hold on from where it's right now. For the moment, I'm enjoying LOOH to lengthen its reign atop the chart... until someone ends it, hopefully by February. I could only dream that the GRAMMY performance of Rihanna will do great wonders and give her 13th HOT 100 chart-topper.

Thrift Shop should end it next week.

And 130K seems like a lot for whoever that is. Am I wrong?

He's an anticipated (breakout (?)) artist of the genre of his music.
