I say that I`d cry if she sells less than 700k in the first week and I really think she would open with 1M again, we have to wait and see what will the lead single do.

Read the reviews in Amazon. Plenty of people only bought it because it was on sale. Billboard's projections were around 850,000.

Besides, the US loved her then. The amount of momentum she lost is undeniable.

EDIT: And of course I want it to outsell BTW's first week, I just know that it won't be possible without something major like a Poker Face level hit.

You're contradicting yourself by saying she had great momentum, then say people only bought it because it was on sale. Billboard's projections are wrong; it is impossible to sell that much in 2 days with only a few people knowing.

Finally, you should take a look back at that era and realize she was in a very tight spot too. Britney and then Adele and Beyonce just released albums, while Katy and Rihanna's singles raged on from the end of 2010. For her to achieve 1M+ at that time was amazing.

I'll only cry if she opens with the kind of numbers Rihanna and Katy get for theirs. Meanwhile, I just want Gaga to relax, rethink a few things if she must, and put out a great album.

The FAME perfume sold millions in its first few weeks.

Won't something much cheaper such as an album like ARTPOP sell even more?

Food for thought, I'm off to sleep. ;)

You can't illegally download a perfume though. :derpga:

That wouldn`t even happen, TTT opened with about 160k and TD opened with about 190k

I don`t think that would happen :ohno: she still had her huge fanbase.

It`s gonna be very interesting to see how Katy will open with her new album tbh

That made no sense. Billboard had exact numbers on the amount of albums bought through Amazon and their servers crashing proves that more than a few people knew about it. Over 400,000 albums were shifted through Amazon. True, some, again SOME, of those people would have bought it anyway, but many people bought it because they were getting an albums worth of music for 99 cents.

Billboard projections are almost always within 100,000 units, and there is no way that she could have pulled 1 million albums without that help. Yes, I said that she had momentum, but that was what carried her toward the high 800s. A modern pop star debuting with those numbers is massive.

You're delusional if you think she has half the mass appeal she had then. Poker Face, Just Dance and Bad Romance were monster songs, her videos didn't suck half the time, she was coming off The Monster Ball, The Fame and The Fame Monster were the highest selling pop albums in the world and her performance art was a spectacle that everyone enjoyed. Born This Way and Judas alone did TONS of damage to her image.

I'm not saying the BTW era screwed her, it did a lot of things right like extending her hardcore fanbase, what I am saying is that Gaga is no longer the US sweetheart that she used to be because of it. If she needed help to sell 1 million albums then, it's going to take a serious deal with Saten to sell that now lol.

Also, yes, the perfume and tour have been successful but those are driven more by fans that the GA. Also as someone said a minute ago perfume and tickets can't be pirated.

Also, to be fair Klou, I wouldn't want an era as harried and as obvious as a cash-cowing like Taylor's for Gaga.

The only people it would annoy would be other fanbases and maybe a handful of critics. If it means extra business and good promo for the album, then I think Gaga should go all out. She deserves to come back and prove to everyone that she's still on top of pop. She shouldn't have to purposely do weak promo because other people are annoyed with her. She's big enough where people will rip her to shreds no matter what she does.

Many fans got away because she started "Gay thing" and they got scared to like artist who supports gay right so loud, they are secret listening to her music i think, also Judas made her look very satanic but I dont know why even my parents who dont understand english very well know Judas meaning as a betrayer of Jesus and so on but they dont think Gaga is satanic.
