I read that it was because of radio ban on Britney +  radio ageism on Madonna

Yeah, radio did not support it at all. Toxic was a different story.

Madonna was also coming off American Life, which really tarnished her reputation in the USA.

Does anyone know why Me Against The Music couldn’t crack even top 30 billboard despite featuring 2 biggest pop stars at the time (Britney was peaking and Madonna was still huge) . Someone on twitter just mentioned, beside Telephone, when 2 female pop stars collab, the songs are actually underperformed. Kinda thinking about Gaga ft Ariana song a bit.

Britney wasn't as big as her fans wanted to make her seem by In the Zone and the radio ban isn't true.
Madonna was in the American Life era a massive decline from Music.

Imagine if Telephone happened during the ARTPOP and 4 era (had they happened simultaneously). Would pop radio and the GP even have been here for it?

Ariana coming off her peak era, Gaga on her pop music comeback. People will be here for it. Totally different landscape and situation than Britney and Madonna.

Britney struggled with radio support.

Yeah, right. So why was it a massive hit in other major markets?

The radio ban was true though.

Britney used to tour with Clear Channel Entertainment (iHeart Media today), up until her Dream Within A Dream Tour, where the promoter was switched to Concerts West (AEG Live).

The only problem in all of that is that CCE owned (owns) almost all radio stations in the US, so for switching parties she was banned from the US radio from late 2001. There are articles about it such as this one:

That’s actually a REALLY good sign. Australia is a great indicator for how Europe will go. I have hope even though there were a lot of meltdowns today.

Hands up to the sky 🌧 I’ll be your galaxy 🌌
