Or they prefer artists talk about their work in other ways...for instance, the way Toni Morrison talked about her work was incredibly detailed and thought out but never once did it seem like words were just being said. It didn’t feel like empty gas. She’s explain the implications of her books, their plots, characters, motivations, etc. but she never felt the need to make things sound grander than they were.

I actually really liked the Joanne promo for that. She basically said it was a collection of songs, not a concept. A collection of songs and it was *the process of writing them* that helped her cope with traumas in her life. It was specific. Idk this explanation feels like a word salad of things when if you cut through it it basically sounds like this is a collection of songs. That’s great, that’s fine. Just say that lolol
