It's very peculiar and other than Kesha, no other mainstream girl went there with the weird noises and huge electro sound. Ava Max has always been inspired by the "GaGa" brand as a whole: looks, speech, music. If she smashes with a GaGa-sound-alike songs, it WILL inspire GaGa to go harder, and reclaim her spot as the one true edgy, dramatic queen. I think GaGa is often distracted by the "Jack Skellington" syndrome: always romanticizing the grass on the other side, feeling empty on her own area of comfort. Which is a natural thing, any self respecting artist will feel this way, and it's great for them to experiment and ****. But it is also very important for an artist to identify their actual sound, and embrace it. I'm not so sure if GaGa has yet come to terms with the fact that, as much as she can succeed in other areas, and even be good while exploring other territories, it is with songs like "Poker Face" where she excells. That's the area where she is excellent at, that is her sound and her legacy in the music landscape. She is "the pumpkin queen", and I'm not sure if she fully embraced this already. So having someone stepping on her toes can be good and healthy for her artistically wise. "Stupid Love" is a great, fun pop song, but she can go way harder than that. And if Ava Max is the one to make her go the extra mile again, then so be it I don t think gaga cares to be on top again.. However redone is great I m sure the song will be good.. It has nothing to do with being at the top, commercially-wise, but being your best, artistically-wise. "Joanne", "Cheek To Cheek", "A Star Is Born" etc, all of that is good, it's important for an artist to experiment and try new things. If you don't, you'll lose the flame anyways. But at some point, you have to work on your strenghts again. Again, nothing to do with commercial success, I'm exclusively talking about her artistic approach here. RedOne is a producer. He has a job to do and money to earn. He has approached Gaga several times and she kept paying him dust. If she doesn't want him to work with others, maybe she should start by working with him again.
