I feel like they're just showing off their voices and doing too much unnecessary stuff with it. Sure, they can reach notes, but they just sound so soulless to me. She is a very good singer, love her voice when she's singing softly but I don't like how her voice sounds when she's singing louder... very throaty and constricted, not pleasant to me at all. KeepOnSwimming 847 Posted March 1, 2020 Share Posted March 1, 2020 For me it's just like Xtina tries what only Jessie J could pull off...Ā Ā Like when Christina does all this riffs and runs or goes up very high she often sounds strained, or, as if she tries to hard.Ā Ā She just oversings and tries to do more, than her actual voice is able to do. And than it sounds messy. Same with Demi Lovato. Both of them have beautiful and strong voices, it's just, that they have a natural limit, and they always go above it wich sometimes makes them sound horrible.Ā Jessie, on the other hand, got a very unique tone to her voice, wich you can like or you simply don't (like Shakira's goat-y-ness), but what she is able to do with her voice is out of this world. What P!nk does with all her ropes, and silks and dancing, Jessie does with her voice. She's a vocal acrobatic. It's insane, what she's able to do with her voice, that's a superpower in itself tbh...Ā Jessie sometimes sounds like a pan flute, wich to me is just amazing. And it all seems so effortlessly and easy when she does it. There's no song she can't nail.
