I totally  respect her opinion - AJayll is always  very considered and genuine in what she says, there's no hateful intention or rudeness. I appreciate that.

I'm sorry to hear she didn't enjoy the song or video but, based on her reaction and commentary, I'm not sure she TOTALLY gets who Lady Gaga is.

And I think I'm feeling that across the board with this release.

There's kind of different camps of Gaga fans, now - the one's who love Gaga's early pop music and the one's who love her acoustic / stripped back material.

And the truth is, there's nothing wrong with what camp you fall in.

But Stupid Love IS a very Gaga song and an extremely Gaga video - it just doesn't fit into any of those two categories.

It's not her high concept avant-garde pop music, but it's not acoustic or rock-inspired or stripped back.

It's a fun, light bop. If Just Dance were released today in 2020 for the first time - on the back of Gaga's varied career and fanbase - I think it would've received a very similar reaction.

Stupid Love is camp, fun and anthemic - it's Gaga at her lightest and most joyous.

Over the years, people have come to expect something 'more' from Gaga... totally forgetting that, at her core, she's a pop artist who loves to have fun.

And there's nothing wrong with that.

I feel like a lot of the negative or mixed reactions to the song and video are more a reaction of how it doesn't correlate to what people expect from Gaga now. So, I understand that.

AJayll, for example, did actually enjoy the song (she bopped!) - but when she applied the context of Gaga's artistry, she couldn't connect to it because it didn't have the high concept she expected from Gaga.

Just my opinion.

I don’t understand why people want a deeper meaning. It’s a fun song and it’s supposed to be a club banger. Should she sing about how corrupt our politicians are or what?

Who is this girl and is she really influential? Why do people care wether she likes it or not? Just curious

Honestly i had the same reaction when i first listened to the leak. But i've accepted it and i'm still enjoying the song even tho i think she could do better. The MV is just ok but i think it's also a little fun. I just think all of this could've been great for a third single but i expected way more for a lead. Still supporting both the song and the MV tho

She's quite big on the reaction scene, realistically she doesn't matter though.

I stopped watching her a while back tho and prefer it that way.

Gaga said this this next album will be full of songs that just want to make you dance. She said in the Zane Lowe interview she wants her new project to be a part of everyones lives and to make people feel better. Stupid Love's agenda is just that; to make you want to dance. Expect an album with more songs like Stupid Love :bradley:  its gonna be her best album yet

Well just because she said that doesn’t mean there can’t be clever and tongue in cheek lyrics like in The Fame haha that’s all I mean. I don’t want her to “sell out.” I want her to stay true to her lyricism

Battle 4 Ur Life

she's obviously more interested in making it about her than the single. she's crazy for those views.

the way she tries SO HARD not to like it is obvious.

and her face like she's some music phd. lol. I have to laugh. couldn't watch it past "I am not connecting" like whatever. it's a bop. you're just late.

I don't think this is the problem

Alejandro has that iconic production compared to SL and i think everyone can BOP to it regardless of the deep meaning.

SL has a great production too though. I think what helps Alejandro is that its lyrics are a little  more complex and the music video looks like some weird ass artsy **** that people don't really understand. With SL, while there is a deeper meaning in the video, it's not as nuanced as Alejandro.

First reaction video I've seen where someone didn't like it, Most people got the message right away. It's not that complex, Stop fighting start dancing :spin:
