My roommate has a leadership role in Target Corp, who is literally sitting across from me as I type this, and he/she searched for Chromatica in their warehouse supply database and expected/upcoming ship items - they have zero in stock. They haven’t even received shipping dates yet from the CD manufacturer and there’s zero details - it’s toggled as “Hidden” from employees even being able to search for it.

When Adele’s 25 album was coming out we found out like a week and a half prior from their supply system that it was shipped to Target warehouses. Her label was smart enough to hire security guards though, so hopefully they do the same for LG. I wouldn’t expect a leak until early April though if it does happen...

And no offense but you live in the states so everything will happen at a later date. For retailers outside the US (which HMV is a UK retailer) it doesn't work the same. We have to get the albums earlier to ship round the UK (and it will be the same everywhere else in the world apart from the US) because if we got them with a week to go, there wouldn't be enough time to get them to every single store to sell.

But... the US is faaaaar bigger than the UK, it’s take way longer to get it to the stores in the US than the U.K.

As a person who’s worked in a retail store like HMV before, it’ll usually say “preorder” 

the minute we grab our handheld upc scanners and register the packing box into the system it changes from “preorder” to “in stock” It’ll have a letter letting us know when it can go onto shelves where we then organize them by date in the back warehouse and just let them sit until we’re told to stock them on the shelves. 
 

so HMV having them is a possibility if they work the same way.

The factories that produce the CDs, Vinyl and any other physical formats will be done and shipped to the various outlets globally. Then (just using the UK for example) once they arrive in the UK, they get shipped to the various shops/music retailers across the country. Once arrived, they go into the wearhouses. 

HMV have confirmed they have stock, so that means they have already received physical albums and its lying in their depots. The other music retailers will probably get shipments between this week and next week. Then, from here, they work out who has pre-ordered the album and those albums get sent to the Royal Mail or a courier service.  Then, the week of the release, it will get sent to individual shops across the country.

Summarise -  

Week beginning 23/03 - shipments arrive to various nations globally, and then to various retailer depots

Week beginning 30/03 -  last shipments to depots, sorting out preoders... also some might arrive at some individual stores

Week begining 6/04 - shipment to individual stores across the country for release on Friday. Preorders get sent out

 

 

 

Remember, Joanne got leaked because a retailer sold the album 5 days early. How do you think a store managed to do that if what I'm saying doesn't happen?

we got warehouse pictures of Reputation and Lover, hell, even of the boxes and crates they came in. Do you think Chromatica pictures wouldn't come out, especially with the cover still unannounced?  

they do get them early, but not this early imo

But they need to get the albums, ALL the album over here in time. And to the rest of Europe      The US might be bigger by land mass, but its much easier to distribute an album in the US than from the US to yhe rest of the world

How has the album cover and the musical contents not leaked yet is beyond me. Sadly I think it’s a matter of days if retailers have the disc.

Do they not just get copies printed in their own countries? I thought albums sold in the UK would also be made in the UK by the same company? Why print all of the albums in one warehouse and create massive transportation costs for yourself?
