Gaga herself said in the Paper magazine interview, that she wants to make happy-sounding music for people going through rough and dark times. "I want to put out a record that forces people to rejoice even in their saddest moments." And right now music is something that helps to deal with the stress of being quarantined and going through the pandemic. By delaying the album, wouldn’t she somehow speak against her own statements? Joanne was still being completed when Perfect Illusion came out.
