Sure, everyone's hopping on the 80s train, but the lyrics mixed with the production of this particular late 80s/early 90s sound mixed with the anime/video game/Power Rangers visuals is not really being done by anyone else. Dua and The Weeknd don't have any songs out right now that sound like SL. Gaga is still carving out her own space in the current 80s-referencing market. A lot of y'all are overreacting saying how boring SL is. It's very subtly different and Gaga in its own way while seeming basic on the surface. I agree with this I think the disappointment is mostly that Gaga didn't do what certain fans hyped themselves up for. which is their own fault. You can be offended and still speak in serious matter without clapping back. 2 weeks ago a couple of people from university bullied me on facebook chat because I complained loud that they are talking a lot during classes. So one girl called me out on facebook, calling her friends and insulting me in this chat (adult people around 30 years old, wtf). I was so upset I was crying whole evening, I was angry all the time, I even got into a car and travelled to my bf to seek comfort. I had horrible weekend because of them. I could tell them to „fck off” and call them dumb btches (which they are ) but I knew that wouldn’t help me. I tried to explain myself as well as I could and after a couple of hours some people from our group standed by my side. If I insulted them it also gives them extra argument.
