Then why is it classed as an EP back in 2009 when it was released, and why does it not appear on Wikipedia under "Studio Albums"? Because TFM is an EP

Yes I know but the standards have changed. TFM classifies as an album now. Gaga always said it was an album, and now it truly is one. Music platforms have it as an album as well.

oh for goodness's sake...

Is there any "TFM is an album or an EP" Thread we can bump from 2010 just to keep on discussing about this extremely interesting topic there?

why are we discussing this again :air:

Gaga has said time and time again that she considers The Fame Monster its own entity and not an extension of The Fame. It was also very clearly its own era, with its own looks, aesthetic, tour, themes and meaning. Regardless of how Wikipedia classifies it :rip: and TFM being an EP, it's still a full blown, separate album era.

Plus, Gaga also confirmed this by settling the debate we had for months on whether the then unannounced Joanne was going to be LG5 or LG6 because of Cheek to Cheek by hashtagging a studio pic LG5

LG1 The Fame
LG2 The Fame Monster
LG3 Born This Way
LG4 ARTPOP
LG5 Joanne
LG6 Chromatica

Do you think we'll be getting any signature hits to add to the catalogue this era? I'd say her main hits:

- Bad Romance, Just Dance, Shallow, Poker Face, Million Reasons, telephone, btw, the edge of glory, paparazzi, applause (US only)

Maybe stupid love will catch on and become a signature or maybe something else who knows.

Stare at the Chartster in the mirror they talk to me too. #StreamFunTonight

It was originally to be a reissue but plans changed and Gaga did an album instead.

Gaga didn't do an album though. It was meant to be a deluxe of The Fame, but instead, they release the 8 songs as an EP to coincide with The Fame. The Yin to the Yang, they reissued The Fame. The 8 songs (TFM) on disc one, and TF on disc two :vegas:

Y'all... just cause you have something against Jazz music and against C2C doesn't mean you can just ignore it and suddenly it doesn't count as one of Gaga's albums :air:

Yeah and Gaga can say this but it doesn't change the fact that The Fame Monster is still an EP and not Lady Gaga's 2nd album  :vegas:   sorry, thats just the rules

The Fame Monster is 34:09 long.

'If a product contains four to six songs, and has a total duration of 30 minutes or less, it is generally classified as an EP. Therefore, an album is typically seven songs and runs over 30 minutes.' You don't just base what a music project is on the number of tracks but also on its length.

Gaga considers Chromatica her sixth studio album. What GGD users think is completely irrelevant.

Following the illogical rationale some of you guys are spitting out, if she calls ARTPOP a gospel album, it must be a gospel album. Right? Because she said so, so it has to be the case. She says a lot of things my dudes.

Just because her ARTPOP could mean anything doesn't mean she can say an album with 8 tracks is an album when 8 tracks is what makes it an EP. She reissued it with The Fame and bundled it up as an album for that purpose, but The Fame Monster as a singular body of work is an EP.

This is absolutely not the same thing. At ALL. This is about album length.

The Official Chart Company defines a boundary between EP and album classification at 25 minutes of maximum length and no more than four tracks. Source

TFM fits both. Gaga says it's an album. End of discussion.

no one is saying it doesn't count as a Gaga album, it's just not part of her main discography. If it did, Chromatica would be LG8

Who's That Girl, I'm Breathless and Evita are Madonna albums but not part of her main discography

Why would Chromatica be LG8? Its LG6 because TFM is an EP and ASIB is a Soundtrack album, so its on its own doing its thing in its own lane

As much as I love C2C, it's not a Gaga solo album, nor do the songs there were written by her. It's technically a cover album.
