'Chromatica' Discussion - ACT I

An album roll out is more than just releasing it digitally .. there are probably a lot of interviews, tv appearances and smaller events already planed. Right now most country’s are on hold, people aren’t allowed to leave the house (Germany is deciding on Sunday for example). It’s the same thing with the SL leak and the idea of an early release.. there are contracts with all the people around such an event, Make-up, locations that have to be booked, staff that needs to get hired to maintain and clean and all the little things. How can she make a statement at this point if she’s going to release in time or delay everything? 
we just have to wait and hope for a promo single and phone/skype Interviews at this point.

I see it as being honest about someone I love and respect. Similarly to how parents shouldn’t lie to their kids about how good they are at things, I don’t think stans should lie about their fave. Of course this could all change if she announces something later today, but I really don’t think that’s going to happen.

But can you guys please try to keep in mind these are just my feelings? I’m not asking any of you to feel the same. So why are you getting so bothered about this? I think I’m starting to understand how God Control felt yesterday.

I'm not particularly overwhelmed by this promo either. Do I think she could do more? Sure, but I'm not going up and down this thread saying the same thing 50 different times about, "Oh, where's the promo?", "She doesn't care anymore!", "She's lost all creativity", etc., etc., etc. Like I've said literally a billion times, just be patient and wait. Gaga has a plan, and for once, it seems like she's sticking to it. Y'all harp on her and her team for being so reactionary and not having a solid plan, but when it seems like she does, y'all criticize her for it? No ma'am, not today. 

Speaking of, the reason why she still released SL a month after it was leaked was  because  she wanted to go through her plan. If you took the time to read the Paper Magazine interview, she said that she and Bobby had a moment where they thought they were going to change the single, but instead, she put her foot down and said "No!" and still proceeded anyway. Why? Because it's  her  art and she's going to release it whenever/however she wants to.

And, again, it seems like you didn't read the interview because it actually gave us quite a bit of info. We got descriptions of new songs, the main genre of the album, the names of the tribes, the meaning of Chromatica and how important that is to Gaga, the names of other producers who worked on the album, etc., etc., etc. We got more info in that interview than all the weeks prior, combined.

And sure, if you want to compare this to a child/parent relationship, yes, parents need to be realistic with their children, but they also don't call their children "shitty" or constantly complain about them either. 

You can have your opinion. We all have opinions about different things, but it's how you go about expressing your opinion. Calling it the "shittiest rollout" you've ever seen? I'm sorry, but don't expect the same kind of respect if you aren't willing to respect the artist that you're literally on a forum dedicated to.

So we got the Paper Mag on Monday, then silence. I'm therefore thinking that we will get something new this Monday coming.  Then the Monday after that. Makes sense to me.

@smoore95GAGA feels like he (he? confirm pls don't want to offend anyone) must be honest and wants to express his feelings in being underwhelmed AND at the same time don't fall under pressure of others.

But other users feel like this is too much negativity, and negativity is the last thing we need in current situation. And I understand that too, I'm worried about album roll-out, I'm thinking what is Gaga doing right now, what is going on 'behind the scenes'.

 

So it's okay to express your thoughts but I think we need to focus more on thinking/writing about what is going on and facts, less on our own thoughts ("I think that she should/shouldn't... " etc).

Many people are under stress right now and it reflects everywhere, we do need more positivity.

Imagine hearing the album for the first without knowing much about it. That's exciting! But i'm hoping we get more content next week. The silence is killing me

Also, we know for sure at least 3 more singles/mv are down the road. In the poscast he said she played 4 songs for him, one being SL, with full choreography. At this point they wouldn’t bother to work out full dances for any random track that’s not supposed to be shown on a bigger scale

I believe both Gaga and Dua are waiting to see if the quarantine gets extended. If it does, then I can see they delaying the album, but it's still unlikely to me.

What i'm trying to say is that she literally has plans for her album and is trying her best to execute it besides the pandemic

If the quarentine gets extended, i dont see the point in delaying for months, because the hype would clearly die by then. Dua also teased break my heart yesterday, so i think she is sticking to her plan. I think the only plausible justification for a delay would be if this situation was expected to get better in may. That way, waiting a month wouldnt hurt, because they would get the chance to promote her records better etc
