Now that’s a statement people say about Madonna too and it’s completely false. As long as you’re making art, you are proving something. You are proving whether your name is because few past hits or not. If you’re a singer or a painter or an actor, as long as you create, you are adding something to your name.

She has something to prove. We all have something to prove. Working hard for 10 years as a businessman or a designer doesn’t mean the company will keep you if you fail them afterwards. Making 10 good movies while being cast in failure roles for the next 2 decades isn’t gonna do your legacy any good either.

Also, it’s not always about proving something, but about creating something original. The public doesn’t care and people move on from even the biggest thing in 3 weeks. No one but the hardcore fans care much about all these terms. In the end, if an artist constantly fails to make original contributions then they will no longer maintain interest and we’ve seen that before.

She HAS something to prove and that is that she isn’t some bubble of weird clothes that popped in 2013.
 

Why did Bowie keep creating great things till he died? Why didn’t he live in thinking what 12 year olds stream today and relied on his legacy form the 70s? Why didn’t Bjork? Because art has no limits and it’s not only about proving something to a few teens or a hardcore fan base but about constantly challenging yourself to create something new and more original and better. Let’s stop justifying mediocrity with excuses that hold no water.

True, but she was heavily involved in the concept. Gaga doesn't do shoots just to do shoots. She's very meticulous and methodical about them, even if she's not directing them.

I didn’t say she wasn’t involved I’m saying the way it all came together was the work of the photographer

I hope the digital version is going to be released on April the 10th and the physical release could be postponed. Another 3 songs will be available at a later point.

I’m not complaining? I never complain about Gaga’s work I’m pointing out a fact. If you can’t handle that then maybe don’t belong to a forum where people are free to contribute to the narrative regardless of whether you like it or not. I’m not here to make sure your feelings aren’t hurt, sorry.

I have hope. I don't think that the SL video is as bad as people are making it out to be. I think it's fun, campy, and creative. That said, the Paper Magazine shoot in comparison is just sooo  good that people often describe the SL stuff as being "bad" or "dull". It's not, imo. They're both good, it's just that the Paper stuff was incredible!

I think we have to wait for the Rain On Me visuals before we can get a good grasp at how visuals are handled this era. But that said, the visual stuff we've got from Gaga herself so far have been really cool. I have faith.

Stupid Love was an homage and supposed to look like late 90's early 2000's Power Rangers television episodes which is the aesthetic they wanted. Cheap, fun and campy. If you didn't like it thats fine but it's what they were going for sis.
