I want to see an outcome. I’m not gonna say she’s a hard worker just because she did The Fame and The Fame Monster right. Sorry, but every music video she made after BTW was cheap and a repetition of a past work, maybe except for Applause only, and this era doesn’t look very promising either.

But you keep on saying she isn’t a hard worker. Let’s see: she goes on tour for her 5th album, then films and promotes a movie while recording her 6th album, then starts a Vegas residency, then launches a makeup line, then begins the cycle for her new album, films the music video for her lead single, she will then restart her Vegas residency, then go on a stadium tour for Chromatica, then go back to Vegas with little time in between, then possibly finish up the era with more tour dates, meanwhile she would have already filmed music videos for the other singles, and then will begin filming her next movie. All the while suffering from a chronic pain condition.

I know, sooo lazy she doesn’t even try :triggered: Just bc the visuals aren’t appealing to you doesn’t mean she’s not a hard worker and that she’s not putting effort into what she does.

So I guess we’re either getting the cover or an announcement of a delay tomorrow. Let’s vote ladies :vegas:

I wouldn't agree that gaga is lazy but I do understand the frustration with the lackluster visuals that gaga (a self-proclaimed visual artist) has been serving for almost half of her career now... I still am excited for the music, but ngl I miss when she did interesting and innovative concepts, which maybe she still will, who knows, not betting on it though

There is basically no promo at this point? Yes

I'm still waiting for something new this friday? Of course

Everything hints at a delay. And i feel it's going to be a really LONG wait. Probably until late in the summer. I hope i'm wrong.

Look, I’m not gonna count how many things she did in the past so I could feel better about the thing she does now. This is her career, it’s not a charity. She isn’t owed thanks for her work. She’s getting paid for it.

As a member of her audience, I’m saying that her recent works don’t look like something that was worked hard on or well thought out. That’s my perspective which is what I’m discussing here. It doesn’t matter if she carrier tons of rock up and down the stairs to film the new music video or if she stood in the desert sun for a week. None of that matters if the outcome is unappealing and I’m just speaking my mind here. I’m not banning anyone from having a second opinion.

But stan culture often says female artists don’t achieve much because of sexism and ageism. Now that partially might be true but if I put Bowie or The Weeknd’s work or Bjork alongside Gaga or Madonna or Katy’s works today, I’d say Bowie, The Weeknd and Bjork’s latest work shine far brighter than the others I mentioned. Keep in mind that I love Madonna and Gaga very much, but I just don’t like their directions nor do they feel very original or special or memorable.

Also, there is no process here. I’m here because I like her music. I’m not here as a special agent to put her or anyone else up or down or to praise or shade anyone and get paid for it.

Gaga has reached a level where she doesn't need to prove anything to anyone else, she is still (surprisingly) making music and creating great concepts.  Don't say that she doesn't make an effort just because in 2010/2011 she did it differently.

I can't with those people saying that Gaga can't serve great concepts anymore. :ladyhaha:

Even in Joanne era I was hoping that the visuals were lackluster because the whole point of the era was to be minimalistic but I feel like Stupid Love MV might be an indicator that her visual efforts are not going uphill anytime soon. Don't get me wrong I don't think it's a terrible video or anything but it does frighten me a little bit.

Playing devil’s advocate that was the photographer’s work, not hers

I absolutely adored that interview and the photoshoot but I would rather a billion times that her own work would shine visually, I think that's a lot more important that a few good photoshoots here and there

But what do you guys think? do you think there's reason to be hopeful that this era will serve us with interesting and complex visuals? if so I would love to be proven wrong!
