All artists should have engagement with their fans regardless of how certain individuals act. No engagement = disinterested fanbase

Not true.

artists are doing their job for one reason... to create art. The engagement is just a plus that you’ve been conditioned to believe that you deserve. If you’re disinterested, you can leave. It’s purely as simple as that.

I was reiterating a point on the ones who don't deserve what she has given us in the first place. Not explicitly saying she should disengage, I just understand why she took the steps back.

Its not a plus. How can someone sell or entice people to buy something when there is no engagement? Its like inventing something thats gonna change the world but you do nothing to promote it or engage with people and so like 5 people have got it.

An artist's job is, yes, creating music and performing. But inorder to keep a fanbase interested, the artists should be more active on social media doing Q&As, livestreams and talking to the people who are inevitably going to buy her music. Its not a plus, its a marketing tool

I remember a month or so ago I was complaining in the LG6 Discussion Thread about how Gaga left us in the dark pretty much but back then we had NO info on Chormatica AT ALL. It's a different situation now, we just can't complain about Gaga's presence. Besides, we still have a month till the album. That's relatively a short time but also, relatively, a long time! We have a month to know the tracklist and so on, a lot happens in a month.

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

But she is promoting it. Look at all the SL promotion that Bobby gave us. Just because she isn’t online all the time talking to us and doing Q&A’s etc. doesn’t mean that it’s not being promoted.

like I said, the engagement is a plus which you now believe is the norm. It really isn’t. And it is abhorrently clear why we no longer have that level engagement from her anymore. Yes, it is a marketing tool, but it’s a marketing tool that Gaga obviously has no interest in anymore because of how toxic and ungrateful this fanbase is.

Where is she promoting it? There has been nothing apart from the Zane Lowe interview, a few pics and that video of her spray painting her car. Where are the interviews? Where are the live performances?

Social media engagement IS the norm in 2020, I'm sorry... you don't have to agree with me, but it absolutely is the norm. What artist in today's climate has no interaction with their fans? Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Niall Horan... they all have a social media presence and interact with their fans. Do you not think they have toxic fans too? Of course they do, but they ignore them and focus on the ones who are positive.

Even if it was a reason, just because a few individuals are toxic doesn't mean the whole fanbase is... and it doesn't mean she should "punish" us for something we have no control over. She claims she loves her fans... idk about that anymore

maybe her team's considering to postpone the release date.  After all,  lots of events are cancelling. She wouldn't be able to do live performances.

Why would they postpone an album for this? It’s available on streaming sites and can pre-order online. She can still do SNL and the Billboard music awards (if that’s a thing) which are at the end of April. Ya’ll are acting like she didn’t just get a top 5 single(with a leaked song) and the most promo she did was get high and go to Taco Bell.

The apple partnership, the countless billboards, YT ads, TikTok ads, these are all forms of (great) promotion.

Yes, it is the norm, but it isn't something that every artist HAS to do. She still engages with us, but just not on the level that she used to or that you're obviously expecting from her.

I don't think its a "punishment" at all, she's said many times that social media is the toilet of the internet, so she probably steers clear of it in order to protect herself and her mental health. I don't understand why you so desperately want all of this engagement when you know she hates social media. Surely you would rather that she is happy?

We'll definitely agree to disagree, but you're definitely not getting any more engagement out of Gaga, so you can always go and stan somebody else, or just deal with it.

Hey guys! It's been a while for me visiting here. Lot of life changes happening.  I'm so excited for Chromatica! Does anyone know if she's releasing hype singles until the album release?

I definitely don’t like taking sides but this was expertly said. A lot of us are forgetting that she released the single, video, tweeted vociferously about streaming it, merch, gave us GAGAVISION, announced a tour, posted the fun video at Taco Bell all in about two weeks. If at the end of this week there isn’t even like SOMETHING new whether it’s cover, track list, hints or a tweet from her then yeah I do think it’ll start to get strange. But right now I’m more than happy with this roll out. While I don’t buy the “SL isn’t the lead” argument, I’m fairly certain the second single will be promoted and performed and by then the corona stuff will probably have died down (obviously not completely as it will be a global concern for months to come) and it will allow her to travel more freely and book some performances. I’m also like 90% positive she’ll at least do SNL.  I just don’t like when we all jump to conclusions and judge her and are quick to criticize her when her label is also at the heart of when new information is released too.....

This mentality is just as toxic as the toxic fans who say negative stuff towards Gaga. Just because some fans don't agree with you or because we are complaining about the lack of interaction doesn't mean you have to act entitled and be like "I don't agree so out you go and don't come back" ... like, we are all Gaga fans for a reason and many of us stan a multitude of different artists anyways lmao.

We'll definitely agree to disagree but it won't stop me commenting on her lack of engagement or promotion.
