Maybe it's the most commercial/safe, just like how Applause, as described by Jimmy Iovine, was the most accessible song on ARTPOP. Then all the other songs are either more riskier or creative/Gaga-ish.Ā Ā + Perfect Illusion was the best option for lead single. 'Cause let's be real, this is probably going to be the last pop music era we are gonna have from Gaga for a while. She's going to wanna settle down with Michael and have children soon.
