I know there are people on here saying those of us who are upset are just being dramatic, but this would have been so helpful during these times. I get it, we know she wanted to spend her time focusing on the Covid19 event and raising funds for research. But releasing an album about "dancing through the pain" and all those things isn't necessarily the thing you take from your fans when most of us are literally going through the worst times in our lives. I've lost my job and now I'm constantly sitting around worrying about how I'm going to pay my bills, how I'm going to afford my food and my rent. I'm not saying it would have solved all my problems had she released the album, but it would have been such a great momentary distraction for so many of us. That's probably why she did Vegas to help prevent cancellations and yet fans still managed to moan about that. When she canceled the BTWB it was the day before my show in Chicago. Like during Joanne, that was a fun time honestly with fan interaction in my opinion (I wasn't too active socially though). Now its just like "if she posts she posts". There's so much hype for her but shes not taking advantage if it. Like Maybe tease us a bit for some fun. Didn't mean to deter the initial convo but like, she could do a lot but she isnt era wise. ARTPOPSLAYAGE 187 Posted April 10, 2020 Share Posted April 10, 2020 I totally understand that there are much more important things in life right now, I personally was looking forward to the album so much, when all of this stuff started happening before she delayed it, it was literally one of the few things to look forward to. I love gaga, I understand the delay it makes the most sense. I was just really hoping she'd at least give us a new date or release a non-single track or really anything regarding the album. I guess we’re all just going through some very stressful times as a fandom, so I’m sorry for being rude and petty with you. Im sorry. I know it’s negative for me to say this but I’m disappointed at the hypocrisy regardless of the circumstances. Literally everything feels hollow and cheap, and I still feel betrayed. I know people are dying, and have lost their jobs (me being one it them) but this album could have made it so much more bearable and provided some sort of semblance of hope- and she literally appointed that as a huge influence behind the project in the first place... Yeah, she’s been busy raising money and organized this event for the WHO but as selfish as this sounds I’m going to say it anyway; she’d not even have the leverage if it weren’t for the ones of us who have been starving for this album long before anyone even knew what COVID-19 was and sometimes people need more than money- they need hope and some sort of normalcy. For god sake there was even music as the Titanic sank... we don’t even get that while the world falls a part— at least not from Gaga anyway. At least Dua, The Weeknd, and Twenty One Pilot fans are getting served. As a Gaga fan, it feels like we always lose, always wait, and are always having to speculate. Today was supposed to be about having the distraction of dissecting and discovering almost twenty brand new, freshly produced GAGA tracks that we’ve been teased crumbs of for almost 2 years but instead we are just going to have to live with the fact that Gaga and her team decided that we wouldn’t recognize or appreciate the severity of some god awful global event that’s keeping us chained like animals. It’s being postponed by likely a few months.. I don’t how you can be so negative & call the album ‘cheap’. I don’t know how you can say she hasn’t delivered when you’ve heard just one song from the entire album. It’s a pop album. It’s not some drug that you need to live. You need to redefine your relationship with Gaga & music if you’ve taken the delay so personally. Interscope delayed it because they had obviously invested a lot in it. Her promo for the album would effectively be reduced to nothing should she have released it. It’s literally the PEAK of the pandemic in the US today. Her hometown of NYC is experiencing nothing but death and struggle at the moment. So are many other places that are huge markets for her - UK just experienced it’s highest death count by day. It’s not right releasing it at the moment. Yeah her fans want it.. her true & loyal fans will wait & stick by her during this time & not give her grief over something’s thats not in her control. Anyhow, she’s doing an amazing thing by curating this WHO gig at the moment (& raising millions to fight this virus).
