omg i forgot about that! its so weird to see fans be mad at an artist over music they actively enjoy....like you LIKE the song just enjoy it lol why be mad at her for something that's out of her hands. its not like she was in a room and said "lets just not chart...i don't feel like it"

I relate to that so strongly. Marry the Night remains my favorite song of hers today. I remember being in my room late at night (or very early in the morning I guess), I was depressed and didn’t want to talk to anybody and just stayed in bed always, but this song was still able to give me such a boost of energy, I would get up in the dark and dance my life away to it.

I do remember that moment when MTN didn’t do as good as people were hoping for I guess, and the reaction was just so disproportionate. It made me so sad that people would focus on the charts instead of realizing how much of a masterpiece and career highlight she had just served.

People will do the same with Chromatica era. 

In 2030, everyone will be saying "I want early 2020s Gaga back" just like they do with TFM/BTW eras.

yeah i mean i get that its fun to discuss but everyones getting each other riled up at this point, like i remember a week ago i saw people mad at gaga for not surprise releasing the album when a fan said she was and its like.......no she never said that lol why be mad over something she never even hinted towards

Whew, lot of big feelings in this thread tonight, I feel you guys 

I didn't think anything could be worse than the wait for and eventual scrap of the DWUW video, I remember that was the first time the hate really really got to me. Was rough 

I have hope for this fanbase though, there are still good ones here, and new people start loving Gaga every day. Lets just always try and make sure the supportive voices get amplified and the critiques are actually constructive, and we might just make it after all

Some of the Monsters get mad at Gaga like that for no reason. Even if a fan claims something's coming on so-and-so day, they STILL find a reason to make it her fault.

Do you remember the ORIGINAL concept for her VMAs Applause performance and how MTV had to axe it because it TOO iconic for them to handle?  

Does anyone else remember the first time little detectives were born and we discovered her and Taylor were dating post filming You and I even long before they made it official?

Anyways, Michael seems like a keeper and I truly hope he keeps her happier than anyone else ever could. She deserves the world.

It's when I first realised that chart success really didn't reflect jackshit about great music. Marry the Night and Hair and Born This Way truly empowered an entire generation of little monsters to blossom into becoming the truest, most authentic versions of themselves.
