Or she actually wants to do an era with promotion and performances and interviews.

She was scheduled to do Coachella, perform at the iHeartRadio awards, and have a set at the Apple Music Festival (or something like that), but she can't do any of those things during a pandemic.

I'm guessing Gaga really wanted to experience a full era again, like she did with BTW or ARTPOP, but this is stopping her. Fans would complain that Gaga never does promotion or live performances, but now that she wanted to, it's wrong.

How is she supposed to show the creativeness of "Chromatica" stuck in quarantine?

The album delay is a great decision and now she's using her platform to help others. You can see her as a vicious person for not doing something YOU wanted, but now she's helping others because that's who she is.

A lot of this is is true but ultimately it's her response (or lack thereof) that is severely lacking in creativity (SO FAR, who knows maybe she'll announce something tomorrow). She has shown zero compassion or understanding or offered anything to fans outside of a cute note and the album cover (which I love) which she only released after it leaked lmfao. There are many many many ways she (by which I mean her team) could have handled this that wouldn't have resulted in where we are today i.e. meltdown letdown central. Whether that means a promo single here and there, a few at home performances, or even a 3 track EP to hold us over I don't know, but she didn't really even give it a shot. She did however have time to put together a skit with Jimmy Fallon about how busy she was. There were many opportunities to be creative and it's not stopping any other artist out there.

I think we're all glad that she is working towards raising money and bringing artists together to do a TV special and what not. But that doesn't explain her inability to release music on spotify and youtube to promote kindness during times like these. But instead, she and her record label are postponing the release to a later time so people can buy her merch and haus labs bundles and what not...

You didn’t sound to glad about her making herself ‘look important in front of CEOs’ to be quite honest. :billie:

Yes, her label is postponing what will be one of their years biggest releases to ensure profitability given the current economic climate. They have lots of people to pay. They want Gaga to succeed. She wants to succeed. They want their company to come out this unscathed. It’s one of the many reasons why they delayed it aside from the fact that almost 100,000 people have died globally.

I mentioned this in another comment, but she may not want to release a promo single that people would have to pay for when she is literally collecting donations from corporations because the public is financially struggling right now.

You know how LMs are. They would complain if all we got in the beginning of the Chromatica era was just home performances. They would want big performances, even if they know we are in a middle of a pandemic.

Gaga is doing something completely different than what other artists are doing now. She arranged a whole home music festival for all of us to enjoy and its being broadcasted worldwide and middle/lower class people don't have to spend a penny on it. That is very creative. She didn't have time (as you saw in Jimmy Fallon), to perform for us because she's doing something huge for everyone worldwide, not just her fans.

She already said it doesn't feel right to release anything during a pandemic, so obviously she won't drop music at this time. She paused this era for the better.

Who's paying for music? You stream on Spotify or Apple Music, the proceeds of which are negligible compared to a proper album release. Donate those proceeds if you like or be creative and find a way to not make it look like you're greedy (which most people wouldn't even think if you're just releasing a song), but to say no one should be releasing music now because the public is struggling financially is a little extra

People still buy songs off of itunes, in fact Gaga usually does incredible well in regards to sales.

Anyways, I never actually said that no one should be releasing music so I'm not sure where you got that from oof. I only stated that Gaga may not want to release a promo single, not the entire music industry at large. Even if Gaga could donate the profits to Covid-19 charities she explicitly stated that she does not want to take money from the average person.

Facts I'm super excited for the concert and to see what she does. At the same time I feel and wish that she could have avoided the disappointment she knew fans would feel (per her message) and I'm sure by the time the album drops no one will care and we'll be slayed but the feels hit extra hard today considering the album was due and there still isn't much going on.

Gaga also said something similar in the interview with Zane Lowe
"These records got passed around to so many different people," she said. "There were so many different iterations of these songs because we all wanted it to be perfect and literally nobody cared who put their fingerprints on it, as long as it was the dopest thing that we could give to the world and that it was meaningful, authentic, and completely me.""

I see what you mean. I personally wasn't disappointed by the postponement because I had a feeling it would happen, but I do get the frustration.

I just want fans to know that we are in a crisis and releasing an album does feel a bit weird at a time like this. There are more important things to worry about like your health and your loved ones. Gaga knew many fans would be angry, sad and disappointed, (stated in the postponement message) but she does expect us to be mature and kind to others, especially during the pandemic and we all need that right now.
