I just think they were forced to release the cover asap and it’s not similiar to the leaking and releasing SL. On top of that the cover can be altered to fool any kind of copyright while maintaining its elements, while altering SL results in real quality being lost. Whether it was photographic or in an audio file, to her its still meaningful and a piece of art. And I must say, that cover was ART so while I think that others might think "oh its just a photograph" like, its still an art piece at the end of the day. Not to mention the amount of hype surrounding it that she created. The whole idea of the placeholder cover was to build hype and suspense around the cover because she knew it would blow people's minds. The cover that leaked was really low quality and not even the correct one. But I do believe that she was going to release it like she did on the Sunday as planned. That cover leaked on a Saturday, why would she wait a whole day? Why didn't she just announce on the Saturday right after it leaked? She was gonna announce it on the Sunday and that store put it up early, probably miscommunication. The cover was released because an official sales site made the mistake of publishing it in advance. It wasn't a real "leak", because the mess was made by people who were authorized to have the cover, but didn't understand when they had to post it. On the other hand, the Bloodpop post was quite clear in this sense, "sooner than later". In any case, I don't think it would have been too long before Gaga officially released it herself, let's say the mistake kind of ruined the "surprise effect", probably planned for Monday.
