In awe that the only thing we can talk about is the postponing of the album. Even if they did, there’s no “right date” to move the album too and they sure as hell won’t delay it indefinitely. The Weeknd is actually talented and hardworking and he and his management know what they’re doing with each album’s aesthetic and collaborations, the teasers, the quality music videos, the short films. Can’t say the same about any pop girl today including Gaga and Madonna. Both of whom I adore but their works getting lazier and cheaper each new era and looking even more low budget and rehashed.

The worst part is that indie artists who are on a far lower budget are making far superior visuals and content overall.

So The Weeknd can start promo late but he’ll generate hype because he’s presenting quality work that is marketed the right way. Gaga and most pop girls however, save for Beyoncé maybe with her surprise releases of visual albums, aren’t really that interesting anymore and when fans complain that they aren’t celebrated or are underrated, I’d say they only get the recognition they deserve because most of them aren’t even trying and are just relying on their rabid fan bases to stream them 24/7 while keeping the volume turned down just to game the numbers. It’s pathetic.

Trust me I WANT to get hyped. I want to be excited, but I’m tired of meltdowns.

It’s unfair to compare The Weeknd and Gaga this era when the former has released three songs and multiple music videos and performances.  For Gaga we have had 1 song/MV and a magazine shoot.

The question is why hasn’t she? Let’s compare the last 3 Gaga eras with the last The Weeknd eras. Yes, both may be different artists but he’s far more hardworking on his visuals than she is and he collaborated with people who actually make good music, like Daft Punk, while rumor has it that she’s working with Ariana. I mean I don’t mean to put anyone down or come off as an asshole, but... it just makes me sad how the artists I love like Gaga and Madonna whom I know very well have potential but they sort of just don’t try hard enough...
