No. That’s not true, sis. Just watch the news and see the idiots in Florida. The US still has a long way to go.

And yeah, Mindtrappa just said:

”Well, @Tigerlily posted that UMG Brasil is reporting a May 1st date for the physical copies now, so if that’s legit then... yeah. I don’t see them releasing the album without having those physical copies available”

If they delay the album I'm literally gonna lose it. As if this whole thing wasn't stressful enough...

Who needs physical.mp3 sales when we live in the digital age :vegas:

Spoiler

I’m kidding those physical sales are how we keep Gaga afloat for the eras that the GP ain’t interested in :cryga:

Super short? Dua Lipa begs to differ. Lol. It’s just a matter of approach and the artist’s schedule. Plus, good luck with the tour you’re talking about.

Wow, someone's REALLY bitter... :toofunny:

I can't believe we're just 3 weeks away from the album (and still don't know **** about it)

The bigger and rewarding the surprise. Also think we’re gonna be bopping and watching the cover and booklet for a long time so I’m chill about it

While Mindtrappa did say that, he also posted this:

If she postpones anything, I could see it being down to wanting fans to have a chance to get the album in hand on the same day, or at least the same week. Amazon isn’t accepting new stock until April 5th, and I saw that while Square Enix is moving forward with their Final Fantasy 7 remake on April 10th, they put out a statement saying that not everyone will be able to get it because of the way distribution is being handled in various other countries.

This could mean the same thing for Chromatica, that the physical will just be available wherever it will be available and some places/people will have to wait.It could also just mean a delay for shipments to Brasil. I mean, I guess they could have already pressed a certain amount of copies to send to stores/US distribution factories may still be open? idk or Interscope could have just reserved the physical for main markets such as the US and therefore other countries will be delayed?

Just posting theories as to what the apparent "May 1st" date could mean, other than a delay.

LastNight

They'll be on a slippery slope if they start delaying the album. What happens in May if the situation is worse, they'll postpone it again? And then again to June if we're still in the same situation?

No one knows how this will play out, they've already publicised a release date so they need to stick to it; there could be something way worse around the corner. I'm more than happy to purchase a physical album in release week knowing it might not arrive for a few weeks.

There are many people self-isolating who would love nothing more than some new music to listen to right now. Yes it might affect physical sales but all artists are in the same boat, it's hardly like this will uniquely affect Gaga - everyone will understand if the album "underperforms".

I believe very much that Gaga herself will want to carry on, she's spoken about the healing power of music and bringing joy to people, well now is the time to do it. It'll be her label's fault if it's postponed. I reckon they are waiting to see how the Weeknd does and will go from there, and I bet good money Gaga is fighting to keep things on track.

What they should do is think of a unique way of promoting the album that ties into the current situation without being insensitive. 'Please Dance Responsibly' campaign with videos of fans dancing alone in their room to the album as they self-isolate rather than going out to a club, or something like that. There are many ways they could work with what's happening and do some really interesting and unique promo. They also need to think of the very high possibility that the album will leak if it gets delayed. I can totally see it happening (I can also see Gaga making it very easy for hackers if she wants to), her label might be forced into releasing if it goes that way.

Some more info supporting a possible delay to PHYSICAL copies only:

Amazon Germany and France have both removed the release date and ability to pre-order from the physical but the April 10th date is still up for the digital album on Amazon.

Totally agree. This is the most shooking Gaga album that we'll hear just because the lack of info. Since Born This Way she's been releasing snippets, promo songs, singles, live performances before the album release, but this time we'll get SL and Rain On Me, that's it (maybe a promo single, but I still doubt it)

I don't know if I'm ready to hear 17 new songs on April 10 :air:

REALITY

What does delaying physical sales until May 1st even do? Literally nothing. People are saying that this pandemic could last for mooonths, so delaying the album to less than a month away literally does nothing besides make us wait even further for exactly the same situation. If they’re going to delay it (which they won’t), they’d push it back to the end of this year or something like that.

They’re definitely going to delay PHYSICAL sales of the album, but to think that they’d delay the whole album entirely, is foolish. I’m fine with them delaying the physical album, as long as we get it on streaming.
