Assuming you meant “you’re” and not “your,” what exactly is the issue with discussing the hypothetical scenario in the OP? Feel free to create a thread to speculate on all of the other viable candidates at this stage, but I think you’d have a hard time find 1. A viable candidate outside Bernie and 2. Enough people passionate about them to have much of a chat. Should we never discuss any hypothetical Gaga projects on here? Hmm. Anyway, it’s sad what a disconnect there is between Sanders and the momentum of his ideas that *may* get him both a nomination and potential presidency, and the majority of the democratic establishment. It says a lot that there are so few options for a VP; and as much as I hate the “Bernie is going to die” rhetoric, it is a valid concern in this context. I totally agree that Tulsi is the best option and that she made the right choice on impeachment. Unfortunately, people who are willing to look deeper and understand that not everything is or should be blue and red are far and few between. Tulsi represents the perfect type of pandering to non-progressives... getting the support of independents and non-progressives because you have a soul and brain and can use them to make decisions that go outside partisan boundaries is so needed. AOC is already doing the type of pandering that has us where we are now. She was quoted on saying that you can’t go all in on M4A and that a more moderate plan is more realistic. That’s insanity coming from someone who is supposed to be the face of this movement’s future. You can’t ever get to a compromise of 50% when you start negotiations at 70% and your opponent at 100%. 35% M4A is NOT even close to okay. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Lion Heart 15,041 Posted February 27, 2020 Share Posted February 27, 2020 -There was a point where I would have considered Amy Klobuchar his possible running mate, but she has done nothing but try to attack and dismiss his progressive movement every chance she gets, so I don't see that happening. -Cory Booker will not bring in new voters, and he had a disappointing run for President. On top of that, it makes the ticket too "NE". -Pete is not happening. He keeps attacking Bernie for no reason and he is on the opposite side of the Dem Party. He is a 'wine-dine' politician (I forgot the exact name). -Stacey Abrams is not happening. She's aligning with Bloomberg as far as I'm concerned. She recently defended his campaign and I'm not sure what's going on there. -Kamala Harris will not be his running mate either. She'll be Biden's if Biden were to somehow win this Primary. On top of that, she'll alienate some Bernie supporters with her past as a prosecutor. -AOC/ Pressley/ Tlaib/ Omar are NOT happening. Two are them are extremely polarizing (Tlaib and Omar) and will animate Republican voters to the polls. AOC is too young and Pressley endorsed Warren already. I honestly don't know who he'll end up picking. My guess is he'll go with Sen. Baldwin, but I think he mentioned he wanted a WOC as his running mate(?). I just hope it's someone who can unite the ticket and bring in new voters.
