No, I was expecting other people to quote it too. I wrote it, since I remembered how intolerant users on this site are to others opinions. I guess they haven't quoted it, because I wrote that.

Out of the nominated for best foreign movie it should have won, because it was the best. But it's not the best foreign movie that came out last year, so in the context of that it didn't deserve to win, since there were more deserving movies that sadly didn't get nominated.

I looked through all my comments and I have not once said a movie that won best foreign can't win best picture. That is a lie from you. I said it's not good enough to win both categories. I also said that it's doesn't make sense for it to win in both categories. There's a difference.

Also @Runway blatantly lied about me being "an avid Trump defender" which is a huge lie. . Anyone who isn't completely delusional will know that, that is a lie. They didn't even have ANY proof for it. So I'm sure most, if not everyone, will agree that they are a liar.

Oh goodness, where to start ? 

1. Unlike the Golden Globes, Oscars don't have a rule about foreign-language films not being eligible for Best Picture. A few have been nominated before (in more recent years, Roma and Life is Beautiful), but Parasite is the first to win. 

2. Being in or predominantly in a language other than English doesn't make a film less "American." The Farewell is an American film that is mostly in Mandarin, but it's not a "foreign" film. I mention this in case Trump thinks Parasite shouldn't have won because it's not in English. 

3. Anyway, as for what counts as a foreign versus domestic film these days, with globalization, it's very hard to discern. Do you go by the studio, the director's nationality, the producers, or something else? We've had a lot of British, Australian, and other white non-U.S. Americans winning Oscars, but I've never heard complaints about how they shouldn't win because they're "foreign. Lots of films that we may think of as Hollywood films just because they're in English and usually with white casts and white directors may actually not be "American," depending on how you look at it. So if Trump is annoyed that Parasite won because it's not an American film, I'd like to know how he defines "American" in this case. 

4. It's clear that Trump doesn't dislike the film based on the content, since he hasn't seen it. For people who've seen it and don't think it should've won, I respect your opinion. I disagree with you, as I think it's one of the best films of the past decade, but that's my personal opinion. 

5. As for the Oscars' declining ratings, all televised awards shows have witnessed a ratings slump in recent years. I think this year was very suspenseful, as people were shocked to see Parasite sweep the major awards, though perhaps the acting prizes were rather predictable. I agree though the show was rather lackluster, and there's too much emphasis on "who are you wearing?", a question that makes me want to gag. I think I would answer, "The flesh of little children, that's who I'm wearing!" (The "who" rather than "what" gets to me – so f*cking pretentious!) I also think the Oscars need to resume having a host. Lots of missteps this year – they totally should've announced and explained Eminem's performance; it would've drawn in viewers, plus people wouldn't have been so confused.

The fact that so many people who praise this film probably have absolutely no idea or just a shallow idea about its class warfare message and themes and furthermore aren't cognizant of how they are entirely applicable to America as well is... well its something  

This is the kind of movie that reflective middle and working class people in America absolutely would relate to and eat up at its core if really digested, so its fascinating that a populist like Trump (who hasnt seen it for sure) would dismiss it so easily, even though the main cast of the movie is literally the equivalent of his most ardent supporters economically.

Not that watching 1 film can spark a massive class conscious awakening necessarily, but I just think its interesting that he's down on the exact kind of film that IMO, is so on the nose about our situation, despite claiming to totally get it.

I want to make a like, Bernie vs ___ 2016 meme about Parasite and compare his analysis of it to Trump or maybe Warren or something.
