Some of you technically elected Trump into office the last time. So not voting for a racist is just as bad as voting for a racist? Is that really the argument? And no, that's not how voting works Politician appeals to voter. Voter votes if they like the politician, they do not vote if they do not like the politician. It's that simple. Hillary didnt even try with some voters. She took them for granted, even at the warnings of Obama and Bill and other party insiders. It isnt the voters fault for not hearing her non existant message Hillary picked Tim Kaine over someone like Warren or even Bernie, which could have easily swung things towards her side... and for what? Tim Kaine was an incredibly boring VP pick that no one really cared about or liked and his impact on the race was so minimal... Hillary's own book and inside reports from former staffers tells us that she never had a vision or message, and only picked him because of some mathematical calculations, despite people telling her to have a more grounded approach to things. The majority of non voters are not privileged "Bernie bros", they are near 100 million non political and disenfranchised people who are screwed equally by Republicans AND Democrats no matter who is in power and who rightfully feel that their vote does not matter, because their day to day situation does not change drastically under either situation. Way more people just didnt vote for Hillary because she was the least popular democratic candidate for president in history than Bernie supporters who stayed home, voted for trump, or voted third party combined. Like, MILLIONS more. You're blaming tens of thousands in a few states compared to MILLIONS who voted for Obama or semi-regularly voted, but chose not to because of the candidate Democratic elites put in place. That puts that "blame" on the Democratic party. They chose a candidate that was particularly unliked, and who had an obvious disadvantage going into the general election against Trump, who only came to prominence because HILLARY'S TEAM and other elites decided they should make him the face of the party in order to make her victory easier. They were completely out of touch with the country and the rise of populist sentiment and ignored all warnings to the contrary. Like, Hillary lost Wisconsin and Michigan to Bernie, who in her and others mind was just a nobody socialist that no one liked or has ever gotten anything done. They likely thought "its a fluke" which is insane and arrogant. 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

ItsTommyBitch 12,640
Just now, Whispering said: Seventy five per cent voted for Hillary. John McCain was never comparable to Trump. Every Republican president is a threat to the security of many other nations globally, and a threat to the most disenfranchised people in our own country. Many democrats are as well when they side with these Republican governments, which they often do unfortunately. Trump has been a hard right on many social issues affecting LGBT+ people, women, minorities, yes. But much of that isn't actually him, its the Republican elites using him as a proxy to carry out an agenda that they have always wanted to be able to do because of the power of his base that he gained through populist appeals to them. His biggest bigotry is in immigration and xenophobia, the cornerstone of his election ("build a wall!"). The Republicans don't have to worry about appearing too far right or aggressive, or ever having to compromise anything ever again with Democrats because of him. They can just be openly bigoted, fight for things aggressively with no pushback etc. Their only problem with him is that he isn't entirely controllable, but the corruption and ineptitude of the people he has appointed to government positions doesn't really threaten their power, so does it matter to them? Not likely. Many Republicans were entirely okay with Hillary winning because they could play "Hillary's evil!" for 4-8 years, impeach her, resist in every way, etc. and they'd still likely control both house and Senate, so it'd just be more obstructionism. They didn't want Trump, but Trump worked out well for them. This time around, many Democrats are also okay with Trump winning again because they will also get to play the "Trump is EVIL!" card in the media for another 4 years. Hell, maybe they'll impeach him again, do some protesting after his re-election, etc. The power structure is unchanged. Trump is bad, obviously. But focusing 100% of our attention on the outrage over every single thing he says and does instead of addressing why he got where he is and what makes it possible for him to do bad things means we'll never get past it, even if we somehow win in 2020. At this point in the race, the only candidates who are even remotely interested in stopping not just Trump, but Trumpism are Sanders and Warren, and I'll let you figure out who is more of a threat to it of those options. Bloomberg running is an exercise in class solidarity with wealthy people, nothing more. He has no personal reason to oppose Trump - none of his policies have made him less wealthy, hurt him personally, affected his family, loved ones (???), etc. He has many of the same views, and has made many of the same racist, bigoted actions, often in a larger scale than Trump has done even in his presidency. His statements at the debate show that he is unrepentant and not evolved as a person either. There is no reason to expect Bloomberg winning would guarantee Liberal judges on courts, aggressive climate change reform, a boost to workers wages, anti-discrimination efforts, cracking down on tax loopholes, or any of the progressive ideas that this country needs to fix things seriously. 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

As long as it's a democracy people will vote for who they want irrespective of you or any person shaming them for their choices. Irrespective of what happened after. They may snapped or was an anti Hillary vote. Not a bro Donald Trump vote . There's a huge difference there. People just refuse to understand this It does NOT matter how bad Trump is. You won't encourage people to come out and vote for someone they dislike strongly in large enough numbers to make an impact with this message. Its just not how people work. If Joe Biden became the nominee, at this point I would begrudgingly vote for him. And many others would. But no matter how much It pains any of us who do vote for him, that is not going to make 100% or even close of people who dislike Joe Biden, the establishment, both parties, etc. become avid politically engaged voters. It's a collective action problem. "A collective action problem is a situation in which all individuals would be better off cooperating but fail to do so because of conflicting interests between individuals that discourage joint action." It would be nice theoretically if we could get everyone to vote in the best interests of the whole to vote for WHOEVER the nominee is, even someone they hate, but we CAN'T. Like, I sincerely wish we could, but we can't, and thats because for many people, there literally is a conflict of interest. Like it or not, some people do NOT benefit more from Joe Biden than Donald Trump. They just literally don't. There isn't a reason for them to come out and vote for the same neoliberalism that has created their current economic and social situation. Is Trump worse for minorities? OBVIOUSLY. But does that affect them? Even some minorities? Nope. The only way to even significantly decrease this unavoidable effect is to run a candidate who has a platform, message, and vision that is directly appealing to those people. Anything else is ceding millions of voters to become disengaged, and no amount of "but trump" will change this. What are we telling the black factory workers in Milwaukee about our ways to improve his or her life when we say "Vote so Trump doesnt win again!" - His job is going to be automated away, or closed down eventually, his wages are stagnant, he doesn't have the training or experience to enter another line of work, his pensions are garnished already, he has medical debt, his union has crumbled, and his kids are facing debt going right into college because he has his own financial expenses to worry about. This will happen whether Trump wins again or not. And what are we doing to get that person to vote? That person that represents a large number of potential voters in America? NOTHING. We're not even offering a fake salvo. Bloomberg runs a double risk of alienating not only already disaffected voters, but our own base as well as the nominee. White affluent liberals may want to take the risk with him, but its entirely contradictory to the fact that we need the support of not just regular voters, but non regular voters to win. If he wants to help Dems win, he should be focusing on unseating Mitch McConnell and other vulnerable Senators, and spending his vast fortune on increasing voter turn out, contributing significantly to community political engagement organizations that start locally and work up to national levels, and supporting a candidate who is most likely to reach those voters. His actions and spending don't indicate a "I support Dems winning this election" mentality. ~~ excuse my rant part 3, but Trump could be much much worse. If Trump had FOLLOWED THROUGH with his populist campaign promises, he would be UNSTOPPABLE. If Trump decides to legalize marijuana, increase the minimum wage, and hold off on cutting entitlements like Social Security and Medicare? If he had been able to replace Obamacare with something - no matter how good or bad? If he had actually pushed for term limit legislation?Gotten rid of corruption in Washington? We'd have a 0% chance of beating him in 2020. Imagine if WE, the Democrats did that stuff Instead we're gonna run ****ing Michael Bloomberg the parallel racist oligarch. 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

Aah yes, your tired "not comparable" argument you like to spew as if that took away anything from the fact that more Hillary voters in 2008 voted for McCain than Bernie voters in 2016 voted Trump. First of all, those Bernie voters who didn't vote for Hillary in 2016 weren't even Democrats to begin with. They were independents and swing voters. They were voters who came over to the Democratic side because of Bernie and were likely never going to vote for Hillary anyway. (This speaks to Bernie's electability and broad ability to bring people over beyond the Democratic base; Hillary in 2016 can't relate.) Secondly, it was 12% of Bernie primary voters who went to Trump, not 25% so get your facts straight before you make such ridiculous claims.
