Team Angel all the way.

I expected this from @Sam Winchester but not from you as well.

I can understand the concept of a sexually and physically abusive relationship, fine. But did not buy the relationship they tried to force after Spike got his soul. Not at all.

I dislike Riley thinking men are better equipped than women and his little cheating scandal, but aside from that, I thought he was a good character.

I thought in season 7 after he got his soul that the relationship wasn't forced but slow and subtle. It's only really near the end of the season when they get close again

And Angel season 5 proved Spike could use his soul for good independently from trying to win over Buffy.

Season 7 just portrayed Spike as...idk, like they didn't know what to do with his character.

I love how he fought for Buffy and saved the world, but I didn't like how Buffy blatantly kept him around despite being very clear that she didn't love him or want anything more with him. It was shitty on her part.

I mean a lot of Season 7 character motivations are confusing, if you told me it was all new writers that season I'd believe it. She does say a number of times that he is useful because he is strong though. And obviously he stuck around and helped out while she was dead and protected Dawn. He's my favourite character though so I might be seeing it all differently

Don't even get me started on the annoyance that is Season 7. I'm glad that the show ended there because based on the trajectory it was on with that season, it would have undoubtedly ran the show in the ground.

They simply did not care about Season 7.

Season 7 has issues but I’m glad it ended that way because if it ended on 5, she was just another slayer who died on the job. With season 7 and the activation of potentials, sharing the power and breaking the millennia-old rules of the the shadow men/watcher’s council/patriarchy, we know how Buffy was special and why her story needed to be told.

I don't disagree that the concept of changing the way Slayers work was awesome, but the writing in that season was just plot hole after plot hole (as we've discussed multiple times), but the sheer amount of them in Season 7 came across like they didn't even bother watching the previous seasons first.

When a plot hole is so large that it goes against majority of the established rules within an overall show, I have an issue.

Season 6 used to be my favourite growing up so I'm really glad it didn't end at 5. And I agree that ending the show with Sunnydale being destroyed and Buffy surviving is better than Buffy dying. I love quite a lot of season 7 it's just got a lot of bad parts too unfortunately. Conversations With Dead People is one of it's saving graces

Season 7 has some great episodes:

Conversations With Dead People

Help.

Him.

Potential.

Dirty Girls.

But the rest...sigh. Don't get me wrong, I find every episode of Season 7 still vastly superior to most television cuz Buffy is LIFE but it's certainly lower on the overall season ranking for sure. Might even be the bottom.
