Me crying in the shower thinking about Fred's death. It hit harder than Buffy's mom's death and that shook me to the core. Yes yes yes yes yes. I cannot hear the words “Why can’t I stay” without tearing up at least a little. Even reading the Fred/Illyria parts in the comics is giving me all the feels all over again. Fred and Tara are some seriously defining moments in my life. Buffy’s mom was terrible but the reaction I felt was more about Buffy’s reaction and Anya and the way that episode was done. Tara and Fred were just gut wrenching.

Amy Acker should be in more things - she is so good. I loved her in Dollhouse so much - one of my favorite performances of hers and everyone in that show really. I love seeing Buffy alums in other shows - like Willow and Cordelia and even Joss on Veronica Mars. That show was like Buffy’s little sister (only less whiny) to me - so amazing and Veronica is one of my all time favorite characters.

She was such a survivor and you know she was going to make it through that "illness" and then boom she was gone. It floored me. Exactly - she changed so much and overcame so much that there was no way you would believe she wouldn’t make it through that too. And then to be wrong and see her go was just so much. So many parallels to Tara too - Fred and Wesley had just found a happy place and BOOM - nope. Joss can’t have happy characters. And then to have Illyria play “Fred” for her parents..... twist the knife Joss, twist the knife. I literally am wiping tears from my eyes thinking about it but it’s such good story telling I can’t be mad.

cjdamien 198
I just remembered finding this video and thought you guys might like it if you haven’t seen it. It is the whole Whedonverse so it has Firefly and Dollhouse in it too so could be potential spoilers.

But I didn't like how the show ended. It could have been so much better. I haven't seen Much A Do About Nothing she is on that with Wesley (Alexis). It's directed by Joss. It's like everyone from Joss's shows are in it. I did not finish the Gifted - I guess I should see how it all ended. I was just made when I saw it was cancelled. I have tried to watch Much Ado a couple of times - I love that it was all shot at Joss’ house and has so many of the Buffy-verse actions in it but I have to be in the mood for Shakespeare and I have never finished it. It’s the only thing of his I haven’t watched- well besides that Alien movie he did. In Your Eyes was another one of his random kind of independent movies and it has some Whedon-verse cameos in it too. It was really good.

I’m watching way too much stuff. And this is the last season yeah? It will be nice to just watch it all and not have to wait. Yay and yes this is the last season although production stopped due to the pandemic so the rest of the season will happen this fall 1 hour ago, cjdamien said: I am hoping the comics give me some more info about how it went from the Chosen One to the Chosen All and back again too Literally same. It intrigues me a lot. I wonder what being has enough power to wipe out all the slayers because wow how is that even possible. Not even the First Evil could destroy all potentials. 1 hour ago, Doot said: I agree. Plus Fred is in the first season! And Darla and even John Winchester was in Angel. The mayor, Vi, Holtz, Spike, Cordy and Harmony all show up! And the writer of Smile Time where Angel becomes a puppet wrote for Supernatural! Whew the parallels Oh wow - I was wondering how many shows might not finish this season because of the whole COVID thing. Maybe I’ll be caught up in time to watch the ending with everyone else. I’m definitely going to focus on finishing the comics this week - this thread has got me all Buffy-centric again haha. I love Julie Benz - I’m excited to see all these Buffy peeps on this show. Since I’m stuck working at home full time for a long time I might just start watching it while I’m working.

That’s the hard part about the whole Fred/Illyria thing - I love both of them so much and Amy does such a good job with both characters - it’s conflicting. I’m too old for Reddit lol so IDK - maybe the world is turning to Buffy for some solace in these dark times. #BuffySaves
