God this article is just straight awful. Full of biased and hurtful stabs at Margo Robbie and other people involved.

Yeah I have no opinion/thoughts on the movie or Margot. But this article is so... weird? It seems like it was written by a teenager.

The article claiming that woke critics are the reason it had a higher RT score rubs me the wrong way. Most movies have a bit of a drop. And 80% is still really good but makes it sound like an unheard of, drastic drop. When it's... not even close to that.

Look I watch DC animated movies and this movies is definitely a Harley animated movie in live action. It was pretty much exactly like an animated Harley Quinn movie would play out.

Changing a title after the fact is silly.

I think it was a wrong time to release this movie after Joker.  It was a good action movie on its own, but it's being compared to a movie that was a written commentary on the human condition. Obiviously, Joker is the better movie.

It's like trying to comparing a Austin Powers to James Bond. They are both good in their own lane.

I think what was lacking the most in BOP was the plot and screenplay more than the girl power thing.

Not every movie needs a world ending thread. A movie dealing with past and present trauma can be just if not more engaging. BOP proved to be a very good movie that stayed mostly consistent in a high quality.

Superhero movies just need to be thrown to the way side already. They're so stale by now and how people aren't sick of them after so many years of the same sh!t every movie is beyond me.

I'm utterly exhausted with this obsession and trend with superhero movies. A new trend needs to start ffs.

Like do people realize superheroes were created to entertain and be for children? And here now we have adults being completely obsessed and fanatic over it lmao

This movie is a feminist man-hating propaganda. I wouldn't pay to watch it.

:awkney: this is the reason why it flops. People like you are the reason because of your out of this world statements.

Not sure this is gonna change anything... It's pretty sad because I like Margot Robbie, and I heard a lot of good things about the film (I have yet to see it though). The worst is that it's not going to help the cause of women-fronted and directed high profile films, sometimes I really hate people and the movies they choose to support.

I agree with you, I watched the movie and I enjoyed it but it did seem to be lacking something to me in the plot. It felt a little like rushed or amateurish to me. I honestly can’t really pinpoint exactly what it was but the movie was still cute

You ever watched The Dark Knight?

I really recommend you do if you didn't. You're right they use comics characters which you'd think is for adults but this movie is very dark and directed by Nolan. The themes of the movie are also very interesting, it has a message and an actual meaning in it, so you could relate and be entertained by it all as an adult. I dont think an 8 year old would enjoy the movie at all

Well...that's gonna be awkward looking at posters and trailers and signs with the old name...it should have been named Harley Quinn from the beginning...its her film and solo story...flops :awkney:

That's a very strong opinion to have on something you haven't seen.

I watched it and I don't remember at any point any one in the film implying that men were a problem or any hint of man hating.

I'm a bit confused by your comment, what part of it is man hating exactly?

I have to agree... I kinda regret the time when there was one or two superhero movies a year, and each time it was such an event that everyone went to watch.

I've been a film-lover my whole life, and the past few years I've found myself less and less excited by the cinematic landscape. The advent of TV is real, and praise the Netflix lords tbh.
