You know the tea. I'm 100% Team Bernie but Tulsi's platform is the second best imo. She is a pacifist in war and foreign policy which makes her literally the only one besides Bernie.

The US has had a one party system when it comes to foreign policy at the expense of other countries and their innocent people. Not to mention the US spending so much on it when it could be spending on educating its youth and providing healthcare. It's time for that to change. And Bernie is the only viable candidate to do that.

This. I’m Canadian too and it’s everywhere. American culture has such an impact in my part of the country tbh. We hate and joke on Trump just as much as Americans, so ofc were perched for his replacement! Plus I already stanned and voted for the canadian version of Bernie so I did my civic duty 😳

The US loves to influence other Nations all the time so it's a little pay back 

 

JK. But seriously in a globalized world, globalized media and economy ppl are gonna give their opinions on other nations. That's just the 21st century

 

At the end of the day it's only opinions. None of us outside the US giving opinions on a pop forum or YouTube comments are gonna actually vote or donate to anyone specifically so it's not really interfearing with US democracy. It's still up to Americans at the end of the day who they vote for and no one can make it otherwise

She is a centrist for the most part in the broad context of the political spectrum. I do think her domestic policy is generally okay but I don’t like that she means tests everything. The best policies that FDR got passed were universal. And they still exist today for that reason. Warren’s foreign policy is really bad per her record record but her rhetoric is progressive with regard to war. So it’s not that *I* hate her; she doesn’t approach policy in a way I support. 

I’m going to push back on using the centrist label for her. Yes her foreign policy isn’t exactly progressive but she still supports the progressive agenda domestically. That alone should merit the label of progressive. She’s not AS progressive as Bernie of course when it comes to her policy, rhetoric, and messaging, but calling her a centrist does her a disservice. Though it is really strange that so many people who support centrist, even neoliberal policies support her and again that’s because she’s not FULLY progressive in her broader messaging which helps her image immensely in terms of appealing to the moderate Dems.

I wasn't talking about you, honestly. I do enjoy your opinions. They were never mean or misleading. And I've known you were Canadian way before we were talking about politics because of your economy threads (which I like to read). I just thought you might have dual citizenship or moved here with citizenship by the wording of your last post.

I personally hope he doesn't move on it. I understand and accept the push for legalization of marijuana, but that's where I draw the line.

But nope. When I said endorse I meant spreading my opinion and thought process online

 

I do have dual citizenship but of Canada & Portugal

 

I do have family in the US (California, Massachusetts & New Jersey) but no personal connection there myself

 

Some of my family when trying to immigrate ended up in Canada and some in the US depending where they got accepted to first so we're very evenly split 3 way between those that remained in Portugal, those in Canada and those in the US

 

My more immediate family is in Canada and Portugal tho... In the US it's mostly 3rd cousins and beyond. I did have some more immediate aunts by they both died 2 years ago  they were from Massachusetts in a suburb close to Boston (Brockton)
