My Take on Enigma Lite

I saw it and Gaga really grew into a very professional performer. Her vocals were on point in my opinion. She really owns her songs.

The show itself is a another story. I would compare this to Born This Way at Sidney Hall. With less staging, that show was iconic. From the outfits to the performances. This one it's not. Petga/enigma is cool. I really liked it to be honest. Still, the outfits are very poor and not even one seems iconic to me. The first one is the best one, but doesn't make her look that good. The choreography is a big problem. I know it is a dead horse by now but Gibson is a way better choreographer than Richy. Every choreo is a mess and lackluster. The only cool moves are 7 years old or more. 

I have to say, Aura snapped yesterday. I wasn't expecting it but it was the highlight for me. 

Personally, I would watch Enigma for Gaga but not the show itself. There is no substance and while I know Gaga enjoys big speeches she sounded terrible most of the time. I felt like I was watching a caricature of black women at some points. At the end it got better tough. 

The audience didn't help at all. Jesus, that people seem dead inside. That seemed full of bland white people. 

Enigma, for me, it's a step down from JWT. To me JWT was better staged with must better outfits than this. It was a sign in the right directions but Enigma seems a low cost BTW/Monster Ball. 

Money is not the problem, taste is. Monster Ball was good even if it wasn't this super expensive production. 

Gaga is a 10/10 at this show.

The show is a 5/10. She deserves a better show and she needs to renew some of her team, imo

even the shoes she wears are really not it. i mean wtf are those non heel boots she wears during dance in the dark. i know we cant judge a show by such little things (eventhough its part of it) but when everything comes together, choreo, stage presence, outfits, storyline, its just not it and i really dont know why gaga ‘lost it’ (imo) 

and pls dont get me wrong i want to like it but everytime im not feeling it. im not getting the feeling i got from past performances.

I agree it was okay but not something I’d watch if it wasn’t for Gaga.. The storyline doesn’t make any sense. At the beginning it’s okay but the rest is just not it. Monster Ball had a storyline but it was very subtle compared to this. This is too much in your face like “look we are doing the storyline here people!!!1!1!”.. I’s also agree with the choreography.. Monster Hall was 100x better and it didn’t have the CGI Enigma (that probably took a lot of money to make) or a storyline. It was just a special little show for fans that was flawlessly executed.

I think the environment didn't help either. It looked like she was in some kind of warehouse. I can imagine the stage and the screens looking so much better in the theatre it belongs in because it's an intimate venue. Also, I thought the livestream of the show zoomed in too much to focus on her dancing when they should have zoomed out so we could see more of the amazing visuals.

I noticed at one point the wig and the green outfit didn't look so bad when you could see her as a tiny character on stage from a distance but up close you could see the tackiness of it all. 

I agree about the accent, I didn't like that she sounded like a caricature of a sassy black woman. Her usual badass energy is so much better than what we got last night.

I was so hyped for the show and always defended Enigma but at times I was disappointed because it didn't feel like a true Gaga show.

There were some good parts so I'm not just here to drag her. I was never a fan of Aura but I loved that part of the show last night. I loved the Shallow performance and Million Reasons and I actually liked that purple outfit that many others seem to hate.

I pretty much agree with everything you said.

To expand upon Enigma though, I think the concept is great. I like the idea of this futuristic/dystopian/technological/alien-like world. I think it has a lot of promise and potential, and actually those themes are stuff I'd like to see during the LG6 era! SL even has that sort of feel to me (maybe that's just me, though). However, I think the execution is off, especially when it comes to the costumes.

I agree with you that most of the costumes aren't iconic, or great. If I had to change one thing about the show, it'd be the costume design. That said, her first outfit is amazing. The quality of that one should be present in all the others. 

I also agree with her "caricature" in her speeches. I love when Gaga gives big, long speeches. It's one of the things that I think make her distinct from other performers. Yeah, other singers and performers say some stuff here and there, but Gaga's different in the sense that her speeches are a part  of the performance, just as much as the songs and choreography are. That said, I find the speeches in Enigma particularly cringey. It just doesn't seem natural; it seems very forced, and the writing or whatever isn't great. I'm not a huge fan of them.

As for comparing it to the JWT, again, I agree. Personally, I think the JWT was much better in terms of visuals and outfits.

And before anyone quotes me to say, "YOU'RE NOT A TRUE FAN!", "YOU HATE GAGA!", etc., this is just my opinion. People are allowed to like or dislike something Gaga does. What's important is that we ensure that we're respectful of our critcisms and opinions.

The idea of the show is great, but the final product is really... odd. Calling it a low-rent BTWB regarding the production, tone, and even storyline is not far off.

But, what makes up for it is the talent of Gaga and everybody else involved. It is a technically wonderful show, and the dancers, band, and Gaga herself perform the hell out of themselves on that stage. Thank goodness.

You are a good fan. Gaga was good, but the show isn't that special. I didn't had a problem with her performance. She looked confident and comfortable. I hope it works better in Vegas.

The Devil is the Details and Enigma lacks quality in the details. 

The only thing that seems to work properly is the interaction with Petga/Enigma. Even if sometimes Enigma has better lines than Gaga itself. At some point I was expecting Enigma to say "Language! Gaga. Why are you acting like a bully? Wash that mouth girl"

When she asked the audience to say "go fvck yourself, gaga" its was really cringe. Content and audience response wise. Ahah

I wish she looked prettier tbh  with blonde hair, heavy makeup, the traditional signature look. Think BTWB London. Petga is super cool I just think some dialogue is cheesy and not as strong as her Born This Way speech from TMB. The ideas are there, but executed poorly.

And she can add Venus to that setlist with the out of this world theme.

The Cure wouldn't hurt either because its a popular track.

Always Remember Us This Way would be a nice addition as well.

That's a good way to put it. It's really the show that isn't well put together. The performances are more than fine. We saw many of them making great shows with less.

I dont want to be that guy, but they should avoid the double chin. It's so distracting. Gaga is fine, she looks good and healthy. But that double chin that the first outfit makes it's so distracting. It's a minor detail but it looks weird.

In my opinion, the strongest parts of Enigma are the visuals, the setlist with fan-favourites and rarities (like The Fame, Government Hooker), and Gaga's energy, because she's kinda dancing non stop. It's average, okay at best.

Even a small sized copy of the SB would be better. The stage from SB but keep petga and the giant robot. Throw away the rest

I noticed that, but I agree she's a public figure we are trying to avoid the public making fun of her. She's fit as f*ck but any outfit can do that to anyone.
