DNC trying to rig primary against Bernie?

Bad press is not the same as rigging, jeez. Bernie is getting vetted for the first time. All the other candidates went through it. Remember the non-stop negative articles about Pete in December when he polled 1st in Iowa? Remember the non-stop negative articles in November about Warren when she was on the rise?

Now that Bernie is polling 1st in a lot of polls, it is his turn to face the heightened scrutiny. Stop acting like everything's a damned conspiracy. Be smarter than that.

The DNC admitted to rigging the primary in 2016 and stated that they were legally not required to hold a fair election as a private institution.

You've gotta be blind if you don't think the DNC is trying everything in their power to stop Bernie from winning.

You’re trying to make one point but don’t see that you’re arguing against yourself.  Literally it’s clear as day. Sabotaging all those who have been in the number one spot so Biden can claim the nomination. Just like they did for Hillary.

Read the opening post again sis, follow a link, be smarter than that :saladga:

Also, pointing out that Pete has had troubles courting black people =/= saying they don't think hes the kind of guy who would help you if you were in trouble on the side of the road or comparing him to Trump :emma:

I read the Wikileaks e-mails. They showed the DNC complaining about the Bernie campaign's messiness. They accepted illegal foreign donations. They got caught illegally accessing Hillary's donor list. They were constantly missing DNC deadlines. If anything, the DNC was super forgiving of a very corrupt campaign.

After Bernie's complaining in 2016, he got to establish the rules for 2020, so if you don't like the rules this time, you can blame your cult leader and his goons.

Pete has A LOT more support among Black people than Amy Klobuchar. But I haven't heard that narrative form around her... why? Oh, because she hasn't been in 1st place in any polls.

I don't think this is a question we need answer to.

We all know the it. They did it in 2016. They're trying it now. But it ain't gonna work :nails:

Hillary was the ONLY person EVER in 1st place in 2016, so that doesn't make any sense. The DNC didn't rig it for her. The American people selected her by the millions. She was the most admired woman in America for like 30 years straight. Why are people so surprised that a lot of people like her?

I literally just posted that a person that the DNC chair, Tom Perez, has appointed or nominated as one of the members of the Platform Committe as part of the 2020 Democratic Convention is also a board member of an organization that just purchased an ad buy, costing over $700K to attack Bernie. This is not vetting. This is actual corruption.

Despite how anyone feels about Bernie (good or bad), don't they realize that Biden would lose badly against Trump? Are they that stupid? What exactly is gained from rigging the process against Bernie? It's not like anyone else has a better chance.

That's the most annoying part about this :rip:

If I genuinely believed Joe would just win on account of his name recognition, I would be less vociferous in my opposition to him. (I would still oppose him because I think his values and positions in the past + the present are way out of date with modern working Americans compared to Bernie, to be clear)

But the fact that the DNC is essentially willing to risk nominating Joe, even though his weaknesses against Trump are CLEAR AS DAY (*cough* Ukraine, *cough* Trade, *cough* Corruption, *cough* Foreign Policy *cough* Social Security *cough* Bankruptcy bill, etc etc.) because they specifically don't want to lose power under a Sanders administration tells me that they don't actually give a rats ass about minorities and marginalized people that they concern troll over - "Oh, if you vote 3rd party or don't vote, Trump wins, and think about the minorities who will be hurt! The supreme court!" - they say, while actively conspiring to make Trump's chances of winning more likely :deadbanana:

You are absolutely insane if you think Bernie got to make the rules for 2020. He had a "say" in the rules and the only real meaningful thing he got was that superdelegates didn't get to vote on the second ballot.

Lol what? Shifting the Overton window to get people to "pretend" to support universal healthcare is not controlling the rules this time.

Bernie tried his best to get undemocratic superdelegates removed (which the Republicans don't even have btw), but the best he could do was get superdelegates on a 2nd ballot which is activated if the candidate fails to meet 50.02% of the vote.

So, essentially every state besides maybe Vermont will have superdelegates activated given the amount of candidates, making his efforts useless.

Why do you think Trump and the GOP have been attacking Biden and his son non-stop for the past 3 years? Can you answer that for me? Because the only logical answer is that they see him as the biggest threat to beating him. That is the ONLY reason key Democrats are pushing him. That's it. Periodt.

If Republicans had superdelegates, they would have prevented Trump from winning the nomination in 2016.

I would prefer we keep superdelegates to prevent dangerous candidates like Bernie winning the Dem nomination on our side.

If you're not going to actually listen what people have to say to you, what's even the point :rip:

Also... Yes, someone who was polling like 4-5% nationally (Klobuchar) is not going to be vetted the same as someone who media is pushing as a rising moderate darling. Pete doing especially well with literally *just* affluent white people in Iowa is problematic because it means he wouldnt be viable past super tuesday, let alone the general election. Also, his campaign did have issues and controversy surrounding both Pete and Black People and Pete's campaign's messaging towards black voters, there was even a racially motivated incident that was in the public discourse re: his firing of the black police chiefso it is entirely fair to point out. Leftists on twitter didn't fabricate or create this "Pete has no black support" narrative - it was already a reality, and one that it seems his campaign has yet to combat effectively despite his name recognition going up.

I don't remember data on Klobuchar's black support, but I don't think it was 0-1% on average back then in the early states, so... I don't think it would have been such an easy, or worthwhile story. Doing decent with black people is fine, 0% in many polls is exceptional.
