While I'm not crazy about Bad Guy, I still feel happy to see her excited about a win. It was on repeat everywhere you went last year. The whole world knows and was singing that song. Like when you say "the song of my summer was ____ because it was on repeat all summer" It's unfortunate but that's how they judge this category. And in some way it must be a cleverly written song to be so catchy and popular you don't come across songs with that much appeal and longevity very often. Bad Romance is another example of this type of song. Edit: also don't forget that this song (and whole album) was written, recorded, and produced by only TWO people aged 17 and 21, in a bedroom at home.
