I didnt say that. But the man’s behaviour definitely crossed a line. They decided to stand up for themselves, which I think is admireable. (I dont think I would have been brave enough) Yeah they might have went overboard but their reaction is completely understandable. Trans people face a lot of judgement every single day and maybe this was the point they have had enough.

There's a lot of situations like this where trans people don't even get the chance to survive. A transwoman in my country was strangled to death and the authorities found her body in the bathroom with her head dunked in the toilet. What happened to that transphobe is nothing compared to what trans people had to deal with everyday. And it's not like the women started it. It seems like they were there minding their own business when these guys started verbally attacking them. The other one even invaded their personal space.

Look at it this way, these guys will have to think twice if they want to attack trans people again in the future.

They didn't start it, but they overreacted. Their behavior would only be justified if the men had physically attacked them. And getting savagely beat up and hit in the face with a high heeled shoe, is nothing compared to "what trans people have to deal with everyday"? Give me a break.

August, while I am a pacifist, my life experience has taught me this. 

Sometimes when you walk away, you're attacker steps in front of you. 

I hate to say this, but when some people are walking away, they just doom the next person. People like this can't learn a lesson from being ignored. 

Hateful people don't learn from being ignored. 

Plus also there's a difference from someone calling out randomly "fa*g tranny" and being purposely badgered to no end. The first is ignorable. The second has absolutely zero possibility of ending well. Like who knows what would've happened if those women walked away. 

Plus also, what these women have done has sent out a message. 

"Transwomen can kick as much ass as anyone else. Do not mess with us."

Which expands protection for those who do not decide to fight.

But August, transwomen are being killed everyday. Nothing is being done about it. Sometimes a community realizes it's best to protect itself. Like I said, those men could've decided to just kill those women if they walked away. Made the more morally correct decision.

I am a pacifist too. That's why I am against violence, except when it's needed for self-defence. This was not self-defence. To me, there nothing "morally correct" about assaulting someone, even if they're harassing you. As I said, their actions would have been justified, if the men had physically attacked them. These women clearly know how to handle themselves, so I'm sure they would be fine if the men had tried anything.

We don't know anything. Plus these men could've fought with knives or guns if these women walked away. 

Also, do not misread my post. The morally correct decision would've been, yes, to walk away. But as I said, the morally correct decision is not always safe. 

August, ignoring everyone who has aggrevated you your entire life may have worked, but it doesn't for some people. Especially in these cases. 

What do you think these women should've kept quiet? What makes you so sure these men would have left them alone? You don't know that. 

Yes. I do understand that of we show hate and violence against those who have done the same to us for centuries won't help anything. 

But I do know, from personal experience, some people will not let you be. They will not leave you alone. They will persist in their efforts to be the worst possible people they can be to you. 

And those people will not be settled with a good talking to.

No. I don’t think it is. In this case, the men got what they had coming. She warned him to stop, he didn’t.
