Yup, I wouldn't be surprised if they're told to not be too hard on Biden.

Do you really think that Meghan can shut up just because she is told to do so? :excuseu:

Meghan has a PERSONAL relationship with Joe Biden. She is biased because she actually cares for him on a personal level.

What's that? Laugh because you are nervous?

Go and see from where you took those talking points and see if the people who used them are different than fox news, trump and then laugh again or scream. :ladyhaha:

You wouldn't need to as she's biased by default when it comes to Biden. She even said she would find it hard to be on the show if Biden ran back in 2018.

That didnt stop her to ask and have some hard questions and opinions regarding his son.

Yeah, she did her thing but none of these women have gone IN on him as much as they've gone in on Sanders, Warren, and virtually everyone else.

Sunny is the only exception, you can tell she holds back sometimes on Biden but if she could she'd go all in.

It's not a question of being ready to have a conversation - it's the fact that the conversation comes from a place of being completely removed from reason. If you think people who agree with you 75% or more of the time are as bad as people who actively try to take your rights away (be you a woman, immigrant, LGBT, you name it), then I cannot take you seriously.

Ultimately the Dem debates have illuminated a lot of interesting differences in how the candidates would move this country forward - to get more people insured, to respond to climate change, to stop the epidemic of gun violence, to make college more affordable - but we all agree that those things ARE worth pursuing. Republicans don't. I can't entertain the notion that a moderate Democrat is like a conservative Republican. Again, it speaks to how messed up your political compasses have become that liberals even think that.

Honestly, and I really hope you can understand this, the problem comes down to money in politics.

Do you really believe that a candidate who's received donations from health insurance companies, or oil/ natural gas companies, or financial interests, to genuinely and strongly fight for issues and policies that put those industries' bottom line at risk (health care reform, climate change, etc) once they're in office?

How could politicians who receive these pursue strong goals or policies on these issues? Of course they can't.

And the truth is many Democratic politicians receive such donations just as Republicans do, and this is why things don't get done.

It's a problem. And this is why some Democrats get compared to Republicans, because even if they pay lip service to social issues, at the end of the day they're supporting the same ECONOMIC policies that Republicans are, and are receiving money just like Republicans are from these industries. This is why they're considered the same.

No, it's not all Dems. But it's a substantial number of them, and these are the corporate Democrats. If you paid attention to this, you'd see that many Dems vote with Repubs on things like this. People like Joe Crowley, who fortunately was taken out by AOC.

If money in politics was taken out of the picture (and by this I mean a la Citizens United and corporations being able to donate unlimited sums of money through super PACs), it would fundamentally change that.

That's why there's important tests like if they take corporate money.

Biden takes money from many of these industries, and then comes out with these weak sauce plans on climate change and health care.

THAT'S what we don't trust. And that's why we compare them. Are they bigots like Republicans? No, but they don't try to make any fundamental changes and support the same economic policies that have failed us for decades.

Case in point is wages. They've held the same or in some cases gone down, meanwhile Wall St profits are at record highs. During Democratic AND Republican Administrations over the last 30 years.

If you can't see this as a problem, then idk what to say. It's what's fundamentally wrong with our politics. And it's why most Americans don't trust our politicians.

REALITY

This **** is so upsetting.

I'll be 100% honest, if this topic had happened maybe 3-4 months ago, I'd be agreeing with them on some of the issues, but—and this is coming from someone who was a former avid Warren supporter a few months back—this ridicule towards Bernie and his supporters is total and utter nonsense.

Like Whoopi, it's not the "Bernie bros" that need to "fall in line" if another candidate other than Sanders gets the nomination. We are not the problem. The #1 thing we, as "Bernie bros", want is to get Donald Trump out of the White House. Talk to Independents, moderate Republicans, and even undecided voters when talking about "falling in line". Those are the people you should be worried about.

Before, I actually liked watching The View, and to an extent I still do watch it (mainly because some of the drama and in-fighting between the co-hosts can be really entertaining sometimes), but I cannot express just how close-minded they are about when it comes to this Democratic 2020 race.

It's actually kind of sad to see Joy, someone who's been a ""far-left"" supporter for a long time, moderate to this centrist/moderate Democratic lane. It's also particularly annoying when Whoopi talks out of her ass and just says the most basic stuff that doesn't contribute anything to the conversation. Everytime I see her on The View, she's always like, "Well...the question is....what the hell is really going on?" Like what?! Contribute to the conversation instead of asking literally the most unintelligent and useless questions! Not to mention the fact that she praises Andrew Yang for speaking up about taking down greedy corporations, but then says "I hear that coming from no other candidate!" is pathetic. Like, Whoopi, honey, Bernie Sanders has been talking about talking on Wall Street and big, greedy corporations for literal decades,  do some ****ing research.

Bottom line is many Democratic politicians and representatives are corrupt like Republicans because they receive the SAME corporate and special interest money

You really think you can trust those who take this money to do the right thing and go after industries that are literally funding their political careers?

If you don't think that's an issue, and don't see how that's comparable to Republicans, then you're either clueless or just part of the problem.

Nothing is going to change until money in politics is addressed and our politicians aren't financed how they are by Big Money.

Exactly!

I feel like this problem isn't being highlighted enough because of just how polarized our political parties are. You're either a Democrat or a Republican, and you'll do anything to defend your party (even if your party is doing some things wrong). What Bernie has been advocating for has been bigger than just the two political parties. It's about fixing a broken system. It's about having a political revolution not just for the sake of Democrats and in hopes that we get the power back in 2020, but that we fix a system that works for billionaires and a system that doesn't work for the rest of us.

Part of that is money and how corrupt the government is because of it. Both Democrats and  Republicans take money from large corporations and billionaires. That is something that must stop. We need people in government who 1) Actually care and 2) Are willing to fight and make that change happen. Bernie can and will do that.

I cant really agree with that. They criticized him a lot after some debate and I remmember a lot of shows when they wanted him to apologize for something.

I dont remmember being more tough with sanders, except this segment.

They’ve dismissed many of the other candidates. Meghan and Whoopi are the main ones.

The times they’ve criticized Biden is because it’s actually a hot topic and tbh he’s been the one with most “gaffes” throughout the campaign.

Shhhh you can’t criticize the Democrat party, otherwise you’re a far left extremist that’s going to help Trump win. You need to shut up, sit on your hands and fall in line with the rest of us.

Spoiler

This logic sounds pretty Trumpian to me :ohwell:
