I swear if Billie surpasses The Fame with the longest running female album in the US top 10 ... :saladga:

Very likely. Streams will keep it afloat for a long time

Then in like 3 years another album will surpass it again. These type of records don't mean much in streaming era

Remember when we treated ASIB as a side project and wanted her to promote The Cure for a quick hit? :bradley:

She really made us look like clowns with the #1 smash, an Oscar and 4 Grammys

Adele is Adele, a talented vocalist whose voice can back up her lack of musical progression and reinvention. Can't say the same about miss Eilish.

Adele has a good voice but she's not a very good vocalist at a technical level. There are people who like Billie's whisper singing, especially the when the party's over type songs with high head-voice notes.

Adele showed lyrical growth with her three albums. Maturity and depth is very important for her music and her image while Billie shows immaturity, cattiness and the typical teenage blinders. Taylor Swift at 15 was more mature than Billie which is what keeps (english-speaking) adults away from her music.

Billie has songs with more lyrical depth than what Taylor Swift had at 15. Taylor was making the same love songs with the same things that have been said 40 million times before, just like Adele. Billie is saying something new. And I don't mean bad guy or wish you were gay (both of which I dislike, especially the latter).

Can we please stop dragging Billie? Yes I’m upset about some categories she won too. AOTY was for Lana and SOTY (albeit impossible) was for ARUTW in my mind. But can we please just be happy for her. She’s only 18 achieving big things with music she made with her brother in their bedroom. The girl is not an industry plant nor is she undeserving. She had an incredible year. Dragging or hating on her won’t change anything. Please let’s try to be the bigger person here.

This ain’t it. Taylor might sing about love but her lyrics and songwriting are in no way lower than Billie in depth or quality. Adele is more or less the same. I agree with Billie bringing in new trends and new things to say but, she don’t have more lyrical depth than Taylor or Adele, objectively, figuratively and literally.

It's not about you disliking some songs because they still exist. Love songs can be just as great as songs about other topics with amazing poetry and lyrical depth. Also Adele at 19 wasn't just making love songs and one of her biggest UK hit at that point was about wandering around in her hometown, telling stories about the people she meets. She's making different music and trying to bring her down because of that is not a nice thing to do.

She got best new artist in 2008 and hasn't lost the other big 3 categories since then. In 2012 and 2016 she basically sweeped all her eligible categories. It's not that serious here.

Pretending that Billie Eilish is the pinnacle of amazing commercial music is though :huntyga:

Billie is the first female and second artist overall to win the Big Four in one night.

Christopher Cross did it in 1980.
