But everyone loved Shallow, the only problem with Shallow was the backing cheers and the sound isnt as strong as the trailer version cause we thought that radio won't touch it.

That's half of the truth. But the backing cheers and the different lead vocals literally triggered similar meltdowns on both GGD and ATRL like Stupid Love did yesterday and today. Most of the liddos only came around to liking Shallow when it held on to #1 on iTunes for two weeks straight with like a 90% lead over the next non-Gaga song. :rip:

Some pop fans like commercial success more than they like music and that's pretty easy to see sometimes...

Not to sound hypocritical as a chart thread resident, but the day my opinion about a song is directly connected to its commercial performance is the day I deserve to bite the bullet. :rip: The numbers are fascinating and fun to track but no amount of success can make me like a bad song, and no amount of floppage can prevent me from loving a song.

Yeah, exactly. I mean of course it's great when a song you enjoyed by an artist you like gets commercial success, especially because a lot of the time it means a great number of people appreciate it just as much as you but to act like music should only be made with the goal of being successful or changing your opinion when a song flops or succeeds is such a sad way of consuming art.

I’m not setting my expectations high but I think Stupid Love could do well on the charts/ debut well considering how a 40 sec leak made relatively high amount of buzz and was trending in Twitter. :lana:

This. I love PI regardless of its commercial performance.
