There a plenty of reasons why she's not on her vocal top now.

She's a hardworking woman. She's working when we think she takes 'a break' and works on an album while playing two different shows. One is vocally hard and the other one physically.

The next problem is : in Vegas the air is dry and sandy which is super bad for a voice.

On top of all this : she's smoking. - needs no explaining why that's bad.

Hopefully lg6 is as soon as possible finished so she can give her voice a bit more break. And girl... pls stop smoking...

Am I the only one listening to the videos in the OP and wondering what the f*ck is the difference between them? :triggered: They sound practically identical.

Yes, she's fine here singing Poker Face, and I would pay good money to see her doing this, but as sung in jazz and piano it's a comedy song and probably the least challenging thing she does. When  I look at recent footage of her, in general what I am seeing is someone who is mangling words, presumably to make them easier to sing.

Compare recent performances with her singing of the National Anthem at the Superbowl. Virtually everybody who takes on that song ends up mangling some part of it to help them hit, or appear to hit, a note. Gaga stood up there and met every word and syllable head on with cut glass vowels. It was maybe the most beautiful elocution lesson ever given.

Yeah, I'm judging her by very high standards, but that's where she has been, and she just isn't there at the moment.

How is it not challenging just because it's (whatever it is) 'a comedy song'? A song's difficulty is defined by the techniques required to sing it, and Gaga exhibited amazing vocal techniques here. This is like saying comedy actors are automatically bad actors. The genre is the genre, the technique is the technique, the latter is seen exhibited by Gaga in the video.

Please provide evidence for 'mangling words' because I dk what you're talking about. :air:

The thing is she is getting ovation after ovation at the Jazz & Piano shows and she continues to get acclaim from Enigma as well. She's doing fine, dancing, singing and performing, in fact better than everyone else, and actually the best on Las Vegas Strip.

The only time I would agree with you about her sounding not exactly optimal is the final show of 2019 (not even the entire show, it's only towards the end with the La Vie En Rose segment).

I don’t know what the f*ck y’all are hearing, but I attended the December 28 Enigma and NYE J&P, and her vocals were amazing in both. I was crying during the latter, she was that good. Please don’t base your opinions on poor-quality recordings. When I watch the videos I took, the vocals don’t sound as great as they did live because I recorded hem on a freaking cell phone. Please stop making a big deal out of this.

This reminds me of when people were judging Gaga's Grammy performance for Shallow, saying she sounded awful and then the official recording was released after some mixing and amplifying of her vocals and they were like

now they're saying it's the best Shallow performance she's ever done. I bet if Enigma and Jazz & Piano were filmed and mixed professionally, they would praise her vocals to the heavens.

actually Enigma was professionally recorded for the Apollo theater concert and the result was a robotic gaga voice full of autotune and pitch corrector (REALLY ironic considering that during the "I don't give a f**k" monologue, she called out everybody who "talked sh*t about her live singing")

I was at December 30th Enigma and NYE J&P and her vocals were amazing. I was surprised to see the thread had videos from my date because she was amazing but it truly doesn't transfer over.

How is that auto-tuned or corrected? Her vocals sound fairly natural to me.

I've watched performances of Enigma and Jazz & Piano of every leg and multiple nights per leg

I haven't heard anything strained or messy. I think she sounded wonderful throughout all those legs. There may have been a couple of lines that she couldn't hit perfectly, but why does that matter when she delivers great vocals throughout mostly the whole night?

Really? I saw many of the paparazzi performances where she couldn't keep up with the breath and the beat for most of the song, she was visibly frustrated. I've also never seen a performance of Shallow that she didn't strained or can't reach the note, which is a weird thing for Gaga as she'd never done something she couldn't do outside the studio.

This was not a gradual thing either, it's a sudden drop 'cause her vocal during JWT was the best it'd ever been. Which led to my theory that the cancellation was dued to sth that effects her voice and she hasn't recovered from it, which factored in her decision for a residency. It would also explain the date push back for LG6 from some of the reliable insiders. People have not noticed this because she just came out of a massively successful ASIB era, which was recorded before the cancellation.

As you said ,it's not really matter if she missed some notes, her stage presence alone made up for it 120%. What I am worried about is as an artist who worked so hard on her craft, it would be devastating if her voice suffered of sth she can't control. Julie Andrews almost died when she lost her voice and I don't want that for her.

Just because she doesn't hit a 2-second line does not mean she did not gain ovation or acclaim from nailing the vocals of a complete 2 hour show, pop or jazz. She sounds find and in fact better than everyone else. There's no need to dramatise things.

Again, it's not a single out problem that I microscope to find, it's kinda consistent now. I don't really care if she is better than anyone else, she at a her worst is better than most. I care if her voice is healthy in the long run. But then, I should have expected this kind of reaction and keep my mouth shut :huntyga:

Expecting perfection from a human being 24/7 is a dangerous and unhealthy notion. I don't think it is consistent, I think it is an occasional less-than-perfect execution of vocals. Her vocal clarity and mastering of technique are exhibited very clearly at Enigma and Jazz & Piano, I think opinions such as yours are too extreme.
