lgaga1fan 2,305
After watching the Oprah interview today, I'm wondering how well Gaga is doing physically. I've been to 3 Enigma shows, and the best one was by far the one I saw in February. She's been sounding extremely strained and messy the past few months at Enigma and Jazz and Piano and it's kind of worrying to me. To me, she was at her vocal peak during Coachella/ASIB filming by far, and she's gone really downhill since then. I don't know if it has anything to do with substance abuse or her personal life, but I'm hoping she begins to take better care of her voice. I'm not trying to hate on her voice or anything, but I wanna see this woman performing live for years to come and fear that the lack of care she's taking for her voice right now could prevent that. Here's some examples of what I'm talking about: Shallow during Enigma opening: Most recent Enigma show: Born This Way 1/20/19: Born This Way 2019 New Years:
Nino 12
People are gonna pretend that it was a single bad night or bad song or that she was sick but there's dozens of these comparisons to make. I hope she recovers, it almost sounds painful when she sings recently. Sold my tickets for this year because I don't wanna participate in the mob of people who made her scream her voice away. Mister G 10,430
Starting to think that maybe her pain is causing the strain in her voice then. You figure if she’s agonizing, she’s trying her hardest to keep it together and hitting the high notes becomes twice as difficult.
Bradley 59,157
I've watched performances of Enigma and Jazz & Piano of every leg and multiple nights per leg I haven't heard anything strained or messy. I think she sounded wonderful throughout all those legs. There may have been a couple of lines that she couldn't hit perfectly, but why does that matter when she delivers great vocals throughout mostly the whole night? LadariousGarage 1
okay so some of those she sounds fine, but the most recent enigma performance, and the BTW at Jazz and Piano, she sounds like sick or something, maybe with shallow its because its a very vocally difficult song to sing, and its at the end of a big show with alot of dancing singing etc. idk about the Jazz and Piano one, hope she is just sick but i've seen other nights were she sounds fine, and normal Edit: I'm watching parts of the BTW at Jazz and Piano one, and she sounds kinda strained in some parts, but other parts she sounds fine so idk Lets do it baby I know the Law
xoxo Craig 55,649
When you are constantly performing, singing and rehearsing, your voice will be very strained and tired. Most vegas acts lipsync because of that reason. It just sounds like her voice is tired, and she needs to take like 6 weeks of vocal rest or something End Racism Now

Of course its gonna have some effect on the voice End Racism Now
Gagarka 474
This is what has been exciting me for most of 2019. I'm very worried about her voice. But the people in the audience say something about this? It just seems that everyone who has visited Enigma is completely happy and satisfied with everything in this show. She sounded amazing when my boyfriend and I went last January. This was at the time where she sang The Edge of Glory at its normal pitch, and she slayed Shallow with Bradley Cooper. Not sure what happened after that leg of the residency and it resumed in May.

We have a friend that went to go see Celine Dion for her new tour; not only was she an hour late but she sings her songs with the aid of a teleprompter. Not a jab at Celine, but my point is that for Gaga it could always be worse. We also saw Britney for her Piece of Me residency, and prime example she didn’t really dance at all the way she used to years ago. A lot of one-two stepping; and the obvious lip-syncing. I admire that she keeps pushing herself—but I hope she does take a break and just chills for a bit.

The fact of the matter is that it was the beginning of the residence. Probably now her voice is very tired, and she is exhausted by the disease. Ahah, I still remember how happy I was at this residence, thinking it would be a great break for Gaga. (after the release of LG6). As a result, it has turned into some kind of prison, which does not allow her to recover. Of course, I'm very happy for you and your boyfriend! Just seeing Gaga live remains an impossible dream for me.

But when she takes a break, she needs to remember to vocally take a break too. No smoking, no talking, no whispering, no alcohol. Just complete rest of the vocal chords, as well as a full body rest. Your voice is like a muscle, and you need to give it rest just like you would with any other muscle after a heavy workout in the gym End Racism Now
NCgaga 4,324
HUGE RISK to perform as much as she does with the Vegas thing. It doesn’t allow her to recover properly if she gets sick, or exhausted. The voice will be like the rest of her body- tired and worn out. A lot of these Vegas girls lipsync their more difficult lines or even songs for this reason- but knowing her- she is not going to do that. And recording a new album on top of all that. She is a vocalist and has to learn to let the voice rest and recover.

Instead of resting she's doing Haus Labs promo, recording new music, etc. It'll only get worse if she stays on this schedule of screaming during shows and continuing to push her body during her breaks
