I'm not saying I, or any of you, specifically did or said something racist but in most cases that's how it is really Glad she cleared the situation. The expression was "that's a n****r plan". And I've heard plenty of other teenagers/adults say it and I was simply repeating it without knowing the history behind that word and what it meant. I was like oh it's just an expression that's it. Like to me "that's gay" was an expression. But then you grow and think about it more and realize that's just wrong, and the history and the context behind that. Racism was/is present in Canada, though maybe our history is not as "deep" or mainstream as the US, it's still there in various forms and problematic. At some point I learned it was bad and everything and I stopped saying this. Since then, I'm very vocal about denouncing racism or expressions that don't have their places anymore today, and that should never have their places to begin with. I don't mind calling people out about their terms, whether it's someone saying omg that's gay, omg you throw like a girl, omg that's a n***** plan, etc. I was ignorant and learned from my mistakes and I'm glad I can use that now to spread kindness and educate people Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
