Are you suggesting she  pull an August 2016 and drop her lead single with 0 promo again because she's "above these award shows" as folks here like to claim?

I’m suggesting that if she doesn’t debut a new song at the Grammys that it is not a big deal and no one should be upset with her

The Grammies itself doesn't do much, sure the AOTY winner tends to get a boost. But the performance needs to be a moment. It needs to live beyond the Grammies.

- PI promo

- Saying the song is about social media

This ho really sat there and lied about the song being about Instagram. I wish someone would have called her out on that bull. :ladyhaha:

It won’t guarantee a #1 for sure but it sure helps to get media coverage! She knows how to create an unique moment for promotional purposes

It might help, but she needs to have a great night overall. At least a win, and maybe a crazy red carpet like she used to do :sis: Im here for it.

Usually big winners see an increase in their album/ single sales or streams.

Yes. If you do a good performance, people actually buy your song after the Grammys. It has helped major pop stars like Rihanna and Katy Perry secure hits like We Found Love, Stay, FourFiveSeconds, Part of Me, Chained to the Rhythm, and Gaga with Born This Way.

I kind of get what the O.P. is saying....Grammys can give a boost to songs, but only so many of the songs that are performed benefit from the boost...there's always a few that get overlooked. Perhaps it's better for Gaga to go on a late night show on a Thursday, where she can be the center of attention, and drop a single then....who knows?

In the long run, tho, I think some of y'all give too much power to Gaga and her team and not enough to Interscope. Interscope probably makes the final decision on when she should drop.

Yeah, I was going to say it's usually only the winners in the main categories that get a boost. H.E.R. gave a fantastic performance and her song barely received a boost last year. Plus, Interscope has Lana and Billie in the main categories...
