I think we all need to reeducate ourselves on far left/far right because they're thrown arond wayy to often when people don't like some drama.

Obama was a terrible president based on how he governed vs what he campaigned for but this is too much. 

I’m just saying that it’s not just trump voters. There are a lot of angry people who are tired of a govt that doesn’t work for them. It’s radicalized so many of us and we have to move forward in a positive way.

While wishing cancer on someone is a particularly bad extreme most people have the decency to not go to...

 

I find most ppl in general can't discuss politics intellectually without making it personal or emotional

Lately I've been questioning if it's even worth being so active in these discussions. Everyone is a know it all that has their mind fully made up already and aren't really actually interested in any discussion or valuable exchange they are just interested in proving anyone that disagrees with their views wrong and insulting anyone that doesn't

 

I never slur at anyone that disagrees with me. And once in a while if there's a new perspective I hadn't considered I'm willing to re-evaluate my overall stance on something. U can't learn and grow otherwise

I support Bernie Sanders. I don’t support people making nasty and cruel comments such as wishing cancer on someone. That’s bad karma.

I also mentioned some time ago that I’d be okay with Elizabeth Warren, or darn near anyone who isn’t Joe Biden—I don’t believe he’s the right choice in general.

I find it amusing that certain people spend time lumping everyone in the same category as if I actually lacked basic humanity to treat someone else with respect. You know who you are because quite frankly it’s the same 3-4 people. I don’t care for Pete; why would I want him hanged in public? That’s extreme and uncalled for and I’d question someone’s sanity if they were to wish for that.

Honestly, I’m convinced that the same people constantly generalizing voters in the same support group are the ones who think we should all focus on identity politics. I’m not standing behind a gay or Hispanic candidate just because I’m a gay Hispanic. It should come down to who is the best man or woman for the job. Support who you want as long as you educate yourself on why your candidate is right for the job.

It’s f***ing stupid to be honest. Go through any political post several of us made and I’d like for them to isolate where any of us have wished cancer on Obama or for Pete to be hanged. But then again Trump supporters are the crazy ones yet the rest of us that keep it civilized are somehow villains in all of this.

Honestly, I think people in general focus too much on what the crazy people are saying and doing and not focusing on how to bring forth a solution to it. Obviously the first step is to provide mental health as part of a medicare for all single payer system and removing the stigma of seeking mental health solutions. The next is to take a look at the people who are radicalized and analyzing why they feel so strongly in the first place. I think when we do that what we find is that it is all down to economic anxiety and Maslow's  hierarchy of needs. If we begin to ensure that all of our people (to the extent we can) have basic needs (healthcare, education, housing, & living wage) and couple that with drug decriminalization as well as immigration reform that is humane without compromising the border, a lot of the people wouldn't have a reason to be radicalized in a way that makes people do these things. Same goes with mass shootings and other crimes. We have to move to a society that does not ignore the economic anxiety of our people because when someone has nothing left to lose their behavior grows increasingly more violent and unpredictable.
