I don't think it was that deep.

And, if I recall correctly, Gaga continuously preached how sober she was when making ARTPOP. Most of her messiest drug use was at the start of the Born this Way era.

I think she was just trolling.

From Spin.com in a top ten list, it is revealed that David Bowie did not remember writing his album Station to Station as he unfortunately did a lot of drugs at the time of its recording. Also unfortunate was that Lady Gaga was in a consistently high mental state as she was also doing many drugs at the time. Basically put, I believe that Lady Gaga was trying to say with the "i don't remember ARTPOP" tweet that she could not remember making the album because of the drugs that she was taking.

I am so thankful that she is in such a better mental state now in her life.

I honestly drew this exact same parallel and I think that she exaggerated how spotty the memory might be for comedic effect.

If anything, I think this tweet was just a joke relating to how messy the ARTPOP era was. At least that's how I took it.

We can't really know what she means with these types of tweets but it could have multiple meanings.

Remember when she tweeted "I'm gonna start lip-syncing" and we all took it to be serious but it turned out to be about a Haus Labs lip sync set

We don't need endless threads about this because in reality things are pretty clear. Gaga definitelly remembers ARTPOP (don't take her tweet seriously) she likes the album (if she was hating it like how some says then she wouldn't perform anything from it) she just really doesn't like remembering the experience that she had during the making of that album and its release for obvious reasons (her being overworked, the hip injury, people who left her, depression, the constant hating from media etc)

It’s not that deep it’s because instead of saying happy bday to the album she was trolling about fans online who say she forget the album existed because she doesn’t perform the songs anymore or fans don’t acknowledge it because they believe it’s her worst album.

I mean I guess also the fact she had emotional trauma from her team at the time basically all bailing on her for money purposes, Troy selling one of her companies behind her back and the fact the whole world turned against her over some f*cking pop music.

True, but what's more likely? That she was trying to convey that she couldn't remember ARTPOP because of the trauma she was trying to come to terms with and the drugs she admits to doing during that time, or that she was openly slating her own art for funzies.
