lmao it's not about her being fat - it's about being tasteful. Look at the damn outfit sheeple. It's an ugly shirt/dress. You won't see Beyoncé wear such an atrocity.

Don't even drag Gaga into this mess. When she's nude, it's almost always fashionable. Seat your offended snowflake a*s down please.

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

I don't know how people lost their taste, some of you really support this...are you fu**ing kidding me. She can't be sexy in that wardrobe, she looks pathetically awful. And she persistently tries to be sexy with such clothes.  Why you all defending something that is not good at all. And her body is definitely not healthy. Some things are not for everyone.

Ok all this mess aside: First time I opened this thread I thought of that dress detox wore on the runway on drag race that one time :ally: I thought it would be something like that.

On a Runway or on stage I'd be all here for it but your in a crowd with people sitting behind you.

No matter who it was, having your ass out in that situation is wrong, No consideration for the other people there.

If Gaga wore something like this yesterday, yall would be screaming YASSS and renewing your stan card

But just because Lizzo is plus sized, you all are disgusted and suddenly find this inappropriate to wear at a Lakers show

Your fatphobia is showing and it makes me want to puke

Everything can’t be defended by adding phobia at the end. This outfit wasn’t appropriate to where she wore it to. Anywhere else more fashion forward would’ve been nice. A basketball game with kids and others around wasn’t the move. No phobia needed

That's how you see it. Everyone has a right to see it as inappropriate or the opposite.

But, if you read what I said, people are seeing it as inappropriate because she's fat .... hence why I called them FATPHOBIC because they wouldn't have the same views if skinny Rihanna or Gaga wore it to that same game

Who are these people? Or are you assuming this? Most people I’ve seen on fb and twitter state it’s in appropriate because of the venue. Lizzo isn’t the only person ever scolded because of an inappropriate outfit for the wrong occasion. Ciara was ridiculed for her dress when she performed the national anthem at a football game.

People can be against an outfit no matter who’s wearing it. No offense at all but I think we,as people, slap a label on people when they disagree with anything that can be labeled “phobic.” I like lizzo but there’s a time and place. Is it a huge deal no lmao she had a rikishi outfit on lol kind of funny but I see why people would comment how they are commenting. This instance isn’t a SJW fat phobia inciter to me.

Gaga was escorted out lmao people were in outrage when Gaga wanted to wear the lace outfit for the Alejandro idol performance. As well as having guys be feeling eachother. My teacher at the time even commented on it in class saying she was sad that Gaga wanted to wear that. It happens all the time to anyone

I mean... if Rihanna wore this it would be controversial but 90% of people would like it. She’s a black girl and a larger one sonof course there’s gonna be backlash.

Read this same thread. The people are right here.

Someone literally said "I don't want your ass in my face at a game unless I find you attractive"

She has the right to do whatever she wants, it’s just so annoying that people are not allowed to have an opinion these days, if you don’t care, if you like it, if you are disgusted by it, you are in all your rights to think that way. You can’t say you don’t like something because you are racist, judgemental, homophobic, toxic, hypocrite, like seriously people when did humanity become this so fragile and breakable thing that gets offended by the most ridiculous things.

What I don’t like about Lizzo, as well as so many other people out there, is the fact that they are glamorizing obesity. Being fat is NOT healthy at all. I myself struggle with weight and I can tell you, as soon as I stop looking after what I eat, my exercise and my habits, I start noticing it in my breathing, my energy, my stomach, my health, my everything gets affected by it. People should not continue to live unhealthy lives just because “no one can judge me”, SCIENCE SAYS OBESITY KILLS YOU, as well as being extremely thin.

but body positive tells you you can love your body anyway, you can show it. And my d*ck tells me big boys are hot too.... So it might be the same for the big girls if one's straight. I mean it's not about science but about expression. It's a sort of activism.

hello hello baby.

White GGDer #1: *says or does something racist*

White GGDer #1: But it's not about race!!!11!!1

10 other GGD users: Wow, you're so brave thanks for speaking up

There was nothing racist said on this thread and still isn't. You're only calling out racism because it's a POC getting criticised. Criticism is always racism when directed at a POC, apparently. This is why people get props for being brave by going against the universal wisdom and saying "no, I will say what I choose because there's no malice behind it and I'd say it to any white person too." Look at what their complaint is, not who they're directing it to.

This thread is the funniest thing I have ever read EVER

Imagine stanning Lady doesn't-give-a-f*ck-wears-whatever-she-wants-where-and-when Gaga and talking about "time and place" PLEASE this sh*t is hilarious!

And the "I am not discriminating against her for this reason but for that one"  I can't  :ladyhaha:

Not all of us fans like it when Gaga wears revealing outfits at inappropriate times. I don't know how often this has to be said. Revealing outfits are fine if it's beside a pool or on a catwalk or even a performance. But purposefully showing your ass at a basketball game during an off-the-cuff dance is not it.

And yeah, people make criticism for all different reasons. There's usually never just one sole reason. If they say it's for a certain reason, believe them unless there's evidence to the contrary. If you think the only reason someone would dislike a POC was because of their race, wow, that's really going to fuel an entitlement complex and means their you're condoning any negative stuff they do.

It's almost as if so many on GGD suffer from selective outrage and think they can hide their bigotry behind hypocrisy and empty reasons  :poot:

It's not bigoted reasons. There's very clear, reasonable theory behind what they're saying. Don't insult our intelligence by saying we have empty reasons and are being deceptive. If anyone's being selectively outraged, it's you, as you come across as only wanting to defend someone when they're a POC. Would you suggest that people had bigotry (just not race based) if it was a white girl getting criticised for the same thing?

the point is being skinny shouldn't save you from criticism either :bon:

Most people on this thread wouldn't say "hope someone wipes the chair after" if a skinny conventionally attractive artist like Beyonce, Rihanna or Gaga wore that.

Kourtney Kardashian was once pictured in a bikini on a bar stool and the comments sections was filled with people saying variations of "I hope the staff gave that stool an industrial strength clean afterwards." Gaga has always been plagued by trolls whenever she wears something risque. It's unsanitary to put such areas of your skin on public seating regardless of who you are. Public decency laws exist not just to protect the public's sensitivities but also because certain areas of the body are unhygienic to throw about. Food establishments don't even allow employees to wear open-toed shoes for hygiene reasons. If it's considered unhygienic to have exposed toes when preparing food, it surely must be considered to be unhygienic to wear a thong to sit in a public seat at a basketball game.

How does she glamorize obesity? All I've seen is body positivity coming from her. To love yourself, NO MATTER WHAT BODY TYPE YOU ARE. Which is always a good thing in my boat. Just because she wears what she wants, does what she wanted and is proud of her body and herself doesn't mean she is glamorizing obesity.

She's constantly putting up photos of herself online where she's wearing something skimpy and posing in a way that a centrefold would. The reason women do that is to say "look at my body, aren't I attractive?" So, if you're doing that while being an unhealthy weight (under or overweight), you are promoting an unhealthy size. Part of Lizzo's entire schtick is that she's a big woman and proud of it. She doesn't make her weight a non-issue, neither does she speak bad about it or want to change it. Therefore, I can only conclude she's happy being this size, wants to stay this way and wants other women to be this way too by promoting her size as something to aspire to.
