thefamebitch 833
Not quoting everyone, but I understand being bullied. I was bullied for similar reasons, although not gay, I was harassed CONSTANTLY about even being a virgin. Called "prude" everyday, Guys air humping behind me as I walked the halls, had dildos and condoms thrown at me in assemblies, had ranch thrown in my face to joke that it was semen and the list goes on. I get it. But I don't let it control everything like so many gays do. Ta not just gays that are bullied. I was a high school cheerleader all four years and I still got so much ****. It happens to so many people. What I meant in my first post was that you all act as if nobody could give two ****s about you but Gaga. It's not true. There are so many people fighting for you and you act like everyone is fighting against you. You all praise the ground Gaga walks on if she says something about it, but don't give any attention to the smaller people that are so devoted to it. What I said was harsh and I know but some people need to wake up. Go do whatever it is what you want to don't let your s-xuality slow you down or stop you. Just because you were bullied doesn't mean you can call us complainers. It's ****ing rude first off. If people sat around with their mouth shut NOTHING would happen. So maybe realize that people who complain ARE the ones who get **** done. Secondly, since I'm assuming you are no longer in school, people don't bully you anymore. Well guess what, for many gay people, they are bullied by bigger things like religions, governments and much more. When you have entire political party suppressing you and making you a second class citizen, then you'll understand. When you have millions of religious people around the world calling you a sinner and saying you'll go to hell, maybe you'll get it. Your post was very very ignorant and to say complaining about how things are is very unthoughtful. And you know what, we praise her cause she has a voice. People listen to her, honestly, who would listen to some random person who cares about gay rights? But many will care if a record breaking artist with one of the largest influences over the globe takes a stand. Would you rather have her say nothing? TheMadridHash 4
it is so funny somehow that some people hate being married, and it has become a trend of the last 2 decades that marriages end within a few years of its start anyway, Human kind has always wanted what they can't have, so homos-xual people want to be married even when they see how screwed up is marriage for straight people nowadays anyway, i do beleive that oen should be capable of doing whatever the F one wants to do as long as it doesn't affect ANYONE else, and as 2 people gettin married no matter the s-x of those involved can't really hurt anyone i totally support the right to make this decision anyway, there's a lot of other things involved with this problem, nowadays peope who live in the occidental world shouldn't be going after religion for this because if they want to get married the answer is to change their country's laws in order to permit such a thing, the pope has no power what so ever in this, i really doubt that if tomorrow he says "let them gays be gay in marriage(wich won't happen)" people will be capable of gettin' officialy married all over the place, NO. because constitutional laws of countries are the ones who ban such a thing anyways, although i support those who love and want to get married i do think that adoption is another issue... Nagini 2,037
Wow. Well, for one, as much as I disagree with society's belief that marriage is a necessary part of life, the fact is that marriage is very important to a lot of people. Mentally, because it's a symbol of intense love for another person, financially/medically, because married people get financial benefits, and for a bunch of other emotional/logistical reasons. Gay marriage is going to happen, but it's going to happen because people are "whining" about it. It's been hard enough just to get it going, and in Minnesota there's going to be a vote taking place to amend the Minnesota Constitution to not allow sames-x marriages. People are going out of their way to ensure that homos-xuals have NO chance of being recognized as a married couple here. So you know what? We're going to complain. Are you straight? I'm sorry if you are not and I'm assuming wrong, but the last thing I'll say in this post is directed at you under the assumption that you're straight: When you are at risk for being bullied for your s-xual orientation, when people hold up signs and yell about how you're a "fag" and how God "hates" you, when people of your s-xual orientation are kicked out of their homes by their parents for who they love, when the government is trying to make sure that YOU don't have the same rights as everyone else, THEN you can sit here and complain about people you think are "whining." But until you know what it feels like to be cast aside for who you're attracted to, until you know what it's like to live in a world where people like you are KILLED overseas for their s-xual orientation, until you know what it's like to NOT be granted the same rights as everyone else because of society's ignorance and illegitimate hate for who you are in love with, then I suggest you stop turning the Gay people into the "whiners" because they have EVERY RIGHT to be angry at the way things are for them. Celeas 5
The current pope is just a disappointment imo. I'm ashamed he is from germany, all he does is going backwards. Since he is the pope, everything turns into a more conservative direction. I do hope that Gays will be accepted and have the same rights as heteros-xuals some day. To be able to marry and adopt children, don't be afraid of losing a job because of s-xual orientation...and especially all these executions in other parts of the world. Sadly, I don't believe I will ever see this day.

Interludicrous 15
A bit of a side note here, but I would like to compare this to Gaga's hardcore fan base. A lot of people in Gaga's fan base blindly follow everything Gaga says. If Gaga likes something - a lot of fans start praising it without second thought. If someone opposes Gaga - a lot of fans declare war. They're mindless followers. They don't think for themselves, and their lives are directed by everything they think Gaga is trying to say, and oftentimes they're so short-sighted that they forget some of Gaga's basic principles because they're too deluded by their own fandom (see the fan wars on YouTube and twitter). They have this insane drive to get Gaga's approval or something that their own ideas, personality and even lives are absorbed by their 'religion'. This is actually very similar to religious extremists. Driven by the words of one central messenger, and forgetting the context, symbols and nuances of the message in their obsession. Sometimes taking the words of their icon way too seriously and literal, yet not seriously enough at other times. And also trying to force their (misinterpreted) beliefs onto others. IMO It’s kind of the same thing with the pope. He’s just an interpreter of the message of his ‘icon’- the bible, and so are all other religious people. And a bit short-sighted at that, but I’m no expert since I’m an atheist. But not all catholic people (like Gaga) have to agree with the Pope. He’s just a person with his own interpretations, and having a Pope as a leader is in no way mentioned in the Bible. Just like how you have Gaga stans – who worship everything Gaga does, as well as the more rational fans who know how to think for themselves. Just me thinking out loud here, I'm sorry if I'm not making sense

I can see where you're coming from with this part. There are plenty of people who fight for minorities and their rights, and their efforts are not acknowledged by the media. and a pop star is praised when she has nothing to fear for her own life (I know Gaga said she's bi, but she's still far more secure than anyone else). At the same time because her voice is louder she gets the appropriate backlash for her opinions. People here only praise her when she speaks about it because its always good to know your idol supports your rights. I'd rather have her speak like this than not giving 2 ****s about the issue at all. This doesn't mean we don't give any attention to the "smaller people" who are devoted to it, maybe some of the younger fans are like that and in that case yes, they do need to educate themselves, but most of us know who fights with us.
