Her brother said that Gaga’s vessel was not art, it was just an egg. He was siding with Justin Bieber (of all people), to laugh at Gaga’s artistry. They are meant to be artists themselves, yet showed zero respect for a fellow artist.

Her and her brother are two different people, I hope you know. :rip:

If Gaga only meant for her art to be a joke, then the laughing wouldn’t have bothered me. But sis Gaga is not a comedian.

It’s funny you would think that I am upset just because I am defending an artist who just got laughed at. I just have ZERO respect for artists who show ZERO respect for fellow artists.

So it appears it’s ok to laugh at an artist, but it’s not ok to be upset when that happens.

Except Gaga herself made fun of the meat dress amongst some other outfits

It's really not that deep, at the end of the day it's an outfit, and bullying a teen who already struggles with their mental health over a harmless opinion ain't it

Billie did nothing wrong to apologize for.

Gaga defended a rapist pedophile and said the media lies about him when we actually have proof he married a minor and raped women. Not only that, she even created a rape scene with him! She only apologized a decade later after R Kelly was put in prison.

Gaga apologized, which was the right move.

She made a mistake and she owned up to it. She can never please anyone. I don't really think it matters when she apologized. I remember a R Kelly victim was glad Gaga apologized for collaborating with him. That is what matters. If Gaga stayed silent during that controversy this year, she would've been dragged and way more hated because she isn't speaking out. She already stated that she was in a dark time when she released the video and song. She stopped adding his part of the song in the ARTRAVE and even removed the song from music apps and the track listing on ARTPOP. What more do you want?

Who’s bullying? Nobody said she’s not entitled to laugh or not care or not know or whatever she says she meant.

Billie is the one glamourising depression, cynicism and apathy sweety. Her art, to me, is cheap, nasty, dangerous and reflective of a superiority complex.

But i’m sure she’s a sweetie.

i, a vegan, appreciate perfectly the message behind the meat dress. i also understand why a heterosexual, vegan, 16yo wouldn't.

it was one of most iconic moments in Gaga's career but it was extremely misunderstood as well. also, she was what? 7 years old at the time?

That's great that you appreciate the message behind it, but it's still someone wearing raw meat on their body, so I wouldn't be surprised if you're the only vegan in the world who appreciates it.

Also, the rape scene—99% sure that was/is BS. Gaga may have way off during that time, but she wasn't that off and the label would have never, ever approved it.  Pretty sure the scene from the video was supposed to read as "classic" sex/p*rn stereotypes: naughty nurse/doctor, patient/doctor, judge/lawyer, president/marilyn, etc. That also would have been very in line with what's his face, that photographer's, aesthetic.

I've always been critical of Gaga working with R. Kelly, but there's no need to make an already bad situation worse and I side-eye people re-writing history.

I find it ironic that you're mad at her for saying one word "yikes" about a dress that goes against her ideology, but bash her art and craft directly, but oh well. I'm not a huge fan of her, I like her music but don't follow her and keep up with what she does, but even I know that this is incorrect. She's opened up and talked about mental health more than many well established adult artists have

I dont care now what Gaga because she owned up to it, I said what I said because the person I replied to was giving too much excuses for Gaga while attacking Billie.

But also, there is different degrees of mistakes and some are not forgiven. With Gaga, I forgive it, but with a mistake this big, it makes me question alot of things about her. She might have good intentions but her view of reality is distorted which can lead to bad things. Working with R Kelly is one thing, but defending him from pedophilia and rape accusation and then mocking it is another.

Obviously Gaga doesn't defend him anymore, so that doesn't matter. Gaga grew tremendously since then and even had an era about sexual assault and helped many others with telling their stores and not giving up.

Yeah im not saying she did something bad, but it shows me that she has a distorted view on reality. Alot of people who go through trauma can have this issue which is why I understand her. But alot of people wont understand this which is why she should be aware of this.
