What The ARTPOP Singles Should've been

DC

Featured Posts

So I love how everything turned out, I think everything turns out the way it does for a reason so I don't thing she absolutely should've done anything different, well maybe for DWUW :green:, but yeah, you know what I mean :laughga:

Ok so here we go!

1. Applause

Released: August 12, 2013

Yes, I know, me being basic :ally:

But this was one LEGENDARY song back in 2013 and STILL holds up till today! It's one of her best singles of all time and the music video is legendary!

So yeah, maybe nothing the absolute spectacular, but it's an AMAZING lead single! :firega:

Promo: *as is*

2. Venus

Released: October 21, 2013

Yes, I'm one of those users :ally:

BUT! This song was literally MADE to be a single!!!

I hope you agree with me cause even if you hate it, you can NOT deny that it would've been HUGE! :firega:

Promo: She performs this song on the Graham Norton Show, The Ellen Show, and does a remix of this and Applause for the AMA's late November.

PROMOTIONAL SINGLE: Sexxx Dreams

Released: November 6th (Night of the album)

This song would've been PERFECT for a promotional single!!! It's got everything 2014 and 2014 was basically all about!

Promo: She goes on SNL and performs this song along along with Gypsy.

3. Do What U Want (Solo)

Released: February 7th

It would've been the PERFECT third single! Imagine the solo music video for it! :firega:

Promo: She performs this song along with Applause on the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Jimmy Kimmel, The Late Show with David Letterman, and Good Morning America again.

4. G.U.Y

Released right before the artRave

PERFECT single for the beginning of the tour! :firega:

Promo: Performed on the David Letterman Show and a live streamed promo of her performing the song on the first date of the tour would be broadcasted for Good Morning America

5 (FINAL): Gypsy

Released on the last leg of the artRave, an amazing single WITH the video would've been absolutely beautiful and out of this world! It would've been the closer of the era and what an ERA that would've been! :firega:

That to me is my vision of the ARTPOP era, what do you guys think?

1. DWUW solo (or as long as we're fantasizing--DWUW feat. R Kelly except R Kelly isn't gross)

2. Venus

3. ARTPOP (promo single right before album drop)

4. Sexxx Dreams (with a clean cut for radio, maybe Sweet Dreams or something)

5. Applause (right before tour so it builds hype)

Pop Music

I agree with Gypsy being the final single and also highly highly support sexxx dreams being a single but G.U.Y should have stayed as a fan favorite album track and that is it

Pop Music and Lady Gaga forever!

1st single: Venus, I think this song would have been better than applause because it combines something artsy with the EDM sound of the album and it would have given people a better idea and theme for the whole album

2nd: Dope, I know people are gonna think i'm insane for this. This song was a completely different side of her that the public had never seen before and thats why it peaked at 8 on the hot 100. It could've been big if she decided to put some serious promo into it

3rd: Applause, Its a great song, the general public wouldn't be so confused about what this album is supposed to be about if this wasn't the lead

4th: G*psy, this would be a great final single if it had a different title bc its being recognized as a derogatory term more and more (I know she didn't use this title in a derogatory way) Overall this song sounds great and would've been great as a final goodbye/wrap up to this era

I think G.U.Y. was a great single considering how the ARTPOP era turned out bc It was symbolic of how she was in charge of her music and art. If the album had a better roll-out, I don't think it should have been a single. The sound is a little bizarre for a single, and the lyrics are a little too much to be played on the radio, but because of her situation at the time I think it was an important single for the end of the era.

FentyGa

1.applause

2.do what u want (feat. ne-yo)

the version with r.kelly was predicted to go number one before gaga cut everything because of all the stuff abt r.kelly and terry richardson came out. the song was great and had smash potential, but the cast was just an issue. if the video had been directed by someone else and the song had featured someone else, it woulda been huge. or imagine if she’d done the original charlie sheen video idea:messga:

3.gypsy

after getting a number one, gaga would have to ride the melodic pop wave, so gypsy would be great

4.sexxx dreams

a radio edit, or maybe a rihanna remix, would make this song a perfect single

5.venus

It wouldn’t have been crazy successful, but Atleast the video would’ve been amazing at a time when YouTube videos counted for Billboard. And I think Venus would’ve smashed in Asia and maybe some of Europe (like Judas).

Gaga wasn’t going to be crazy successful this era anyway, the GP was over her.

It’s hard to say how Venus would have been recieved. It’s one of her best songs and would have had an awesome music video. It also had a strong likelihood of going viral.

I personally think it has her strongest chorus.

1. Applause

2. Venus (with a Steven Klein music video)

3. ARTPOP as promo, with that I&V video. (omg i love that)

4. DWUW ft. Someone else (not the Xtina version)

5. Release a live version of Gypsy from Berlin, maybe a European single.

That's all

yes and

1. Gypsy

It's the most  radio-friendly song on ARTPOP, and lyrics, "sometimes the story has no end..." would be a perfect reference to the cancellation of BTWB.

Promotional single: Aura

Let's imagine Gaga hadn't leaked Aura earlier, and the song could've been released somewhere in October around the Machete Kills release and it would've built some hype.

2. Do What U Want (solo/feat. Christina Aguilera subsequently)

After the success that Gypsy could've had, DWUW with a proper music video would've been one of the biggest Gaga's songs with the music video including the body positive movement and bullying against people with disabilities, GP would've really appreciated that.

3. Venus

Gaga could've sang the song for the first time at the Grammys and released the very expensive music video with a lot of special effects then. It would've smashed.

4. Manicure

She was really busy with the prepartion to the ArtRave, so the song wouldn't have been promoted at all, as it flopped, it would've been the very last ARTPOP single :triggered:

Did you think I'd show up in a limousine? No
