Woohoo 6,534
Considering that millions of plastic CDs are packaged every album/track despite the streaming era stirring up a storm, would you appreciate the change? How would you react if a major artist/record company announced this packaging? "I heard if you record Gaga snoring and play it backward it sounds like an act. 2 unreleased." ElectricKing 9,405
If it was better for the environment which it is, I wouldn't mind a digipak type of packaging for physical media releases.

itsmebuddy 573
Digipaks are my favorite type of packaging, they’re just cool to look at, so of course I’d rather have digipaks. totally stream "love can't save me now" by it's me, buddy :D
FfFfFfFF 57,843
A part of me will be nostalgic of the old CD packaging of course but if it's better for the environment I am here for it.
whore 11,447
As a collector, I hate them just because they tear so easily if you bend them the wrong way, or simply just using them will eventually wear them down. And I know what the next argument will be: the plastic cases break just as easily! However, it’s much easier to simply take the album part, remove the plastic case, and replace it with a new one. I used to buy plastic cases just for this reason. With a digipak, if it’s damaged, then the only “fixing” would be to buy another one, which just isn’t practical, especially for limited releases. not Chromatica 5,393
I mean jewel cases aren't all that aesthetically pleasing either... Anyhoe, good design can solve anything so it shouldn't be an issue.
