Where you are wrong is that I don't really care about what Gaga decides to do. Yes, she does not exist to cater my musical taste, that is why if she is not doing something I don't really care about I won't stan or defend her blindly. There are other artists out there. She does what she wants, doesn't mean I should be a "it's Gaga so I should support her even if I don't like what she is delivering" type of fan. I said the song is not that good, I didn't say I felt personally insulted that she didn't release something that I like. I said she released something that was not good, and I decided to unstan (and actually because she hadn't deliver anything that truly appealed to me in a long time). You are taking my unstanning rather serious as well.

 

I don't take pop music that seriously, but I do think that in Gaga case it was fair to be more serious. When you have an artist who's all about not caring about trends, about giving pop music more meaning, or who likes to preach about their dedication to an album or a concept, the release of something like The Cure is very off.

But it could be a parody of a pop song. The Cure sounded like it could be one of Ally's pop songs but didn't make the cut. It's not that hard to imagine since this was released when she was filming A Star is Born.

I do like The Cure but I definitely thought it was a step down from Joanne. 

As far as the similar pop songs on ASIB, I like Heal Me and Hair Body Face more, but it’s definitely better than WDYDT in my opinion.

I wish Hair Body Face got the full performance scene in the film instead.

I think HBF is a much better, less repetitive song, with an absolute fire chorus.

While it may not have some Gaga twist to it, The Cure will be the Gaga song that almost got away. She may have written it for ASIB but instead of scrapping it and locking it away, she released it to the GP and we all ate. it. up. (As we should have). We got an over the top Gaga performance that had all the sparks and choreo to fufill any craving I had for popGa at the time. I saw The Cure as a gift to fans and a quick return to fun pop!
