He was not a fan. He accused Gaga twice for paying for her accolades. He was very eccentric man, he doesn't like a lot of things, he doesn't even like MJ and The Beatles either.

I saw Ed Sheeran in concert and it was so good. He is a master at what he does and I think he seems like a really nice guy. So sick of people trashing him just because he doesn't look like a pop star typically looks  which makes him a target. And that's what it boils down to. His stats speak for themselves. Isn't he the most followed artist on Spotify?  Methinks the clowns who trash him online are secretly having crying sessions to his music when they are dumped for the 4567th time. 

It's really hard for the likes of Prince and Madonna to lose the hold they had on the charts and popular culture. They turn bitter.

It’s messy to call out specific people.

Assuming this isn’t being misconstrued by the media and being that he isn’t here to back his statement, I will just say that his point could’ve been made without mentioning any names. 

I also find it unfair to call out these two. They write a lot of their own music. Ed can play a few instruments, and his vocals actually sound good live.

Call out the music, radio, and streaming industry...not your fellow artists.

Tea though,  it def wasn't bitterness about the artists: Prince became the embodiment of "music not the bling." He was tired of how fake and artificial the corporate music industry is. Prince didn't care about hits anymore RIP  legendt
