The song is basic radio fodder, elevator music. Her image is already exhausting and no matter how much promo she does, people are no longer interested. She needs to rebrand into a sound and image that will make people take her seriously again. She could actually return to acoustic with really good songs.

We already know that it's not singles from an album. The lack of promotion explain that. Katy and Capitol have a plan, she already told us that when NRO was out. No official single = no promotion, that's not a surprise. Just like The Cure for GaGa.
